LEGO has revealed yet another upcoming gift with purchase set with the LEGO Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books (40690). The set continues the line of tribute sets for various historical figures. This one features a whole build within a book that pays homage to Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Five Weeks in a Balloon. There’s no details on when or the price requirements to get it at this time but it should be fairly soon.

French retailer fnac has posted a product listing for a new LEGO Marvel 4+ set called Iron Man with Bike and The Hulk (76287). Releasing in August, the 68 piece set features Iron Man with your typical 4+ style bike along with a regular Hulk minifigure which is somewhat rare as LEGO typically goes for the bigfig version of the character.
French retailer fnac has revealed two new LEGO Speed Champions sets that are slated for released in August. First is the Ferrari F40 (76934) which has 318 pieces. The other is the NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (76935) which has 328 pieces. Both cars are Speed Champions versions of the larger counterparts (Creator Expert 10248 and Technic 42153)

Today marks the last day for the LEGO Double Insider Points event on the LEGO Shop for at least a few months. We usually get one of these during the summer, one in the fall, and one or two more times during the holiday season. The double points will work on any current in-stock items as well as on backorder items and even pre-order items.

There’s only about a day and half left for the LEGO Double Insider Points event on the LEGO Shop. Until tomorrow at 9:00pm PT, you can earn double points on all your purchases. These events are the best time to get the larger sets like The Lord of the Rings Barad-Dur (10333) to get more bang for your buck. We probably won’t see another double points event until probably August or September, if we get one then. Last year, we didn’t get one until October.

I presented this question when Optimus Prime (10302) was released and now is a good time to revisit since Bumblebee (10338) was just announced but what LEGO Transformers character should see next? The obvious choice is Megatron but I’ve already mentioned before that I’ll be hard for LEGO to make him as a gun or tank for his alternate modes. Even if it’s fantasy, LEGO has avoided making military-type sets so I would guess that LEGO would go for the jet mode from the movies or the Beast Wars T.Rex.
If Megatron can’t be touched, I don’t see why not since he is the main antagonist, I next clear choice is Soundwave. He is my favorite Decepticon and he’s a cassette player with various cassettes that also transform. He could potentially have lots of play features with all the different cassettes and shouldn’t bee too hard to transform since his legs just fold down from the sides and the legs pop out from the sides. Now that LEGO has introduced the sound brick, for the LEGO Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat (76429), it wouldn’t bee too hard to implement some voices for Soundwave.
Starscream could be another possibility and he has the same issue as Megatron as LEGO has it make it look not too military for his jet. His Cybertron jet is a little more fantasy so LEGO could go that … Continue
