LEGO Ideas Caribbean Clipper Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Caribbean Clipper by Babyteeth is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This set is an updated version of the set of the same name that was released back in 1989. The amount of parts used is around 2,000 pieces.

It now joins The Mountain Windmill, Community – Greendale Community College, LEGO HeroQuest, Brickwest Studios, House from Up, Animal Crossing New Horizons: Nook’s Cranny, Trabant 601, Night at the Museum, Fast Food Corner, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Portal 2 – GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley, and BMW M1 (E26) as the projects to reach the Second 2020 Review Stage.

Older LEGO GWP Products Available in VIP Reward Center

If you missed out on some previous LEGO gift with purchase items from previous years, the Reward Center has a number of items available that you can redeem with your points.

Buildable 2×4 Red Brick – 1,300 points
DUPLO Photo Frame – 950 points
LEGO Creator Fountain – 1,400 points
LEGO VIP Tote Bag – 3,200 points
LEGO Iconic VIP Set – 500 points

Each item you purchase gets you a promotional code that you can use on your next Shop@Home purchase. The codes last for only 60 days so you’ll have to use them fairly quickly before they expire. Some of the items have a limit on how many you can get. I’m not sure how much inventory LEGO has on each item so hop on it if you see something you like.

LEGO has opened up a new LEGO flagship store in Hangzhou, China and is the fourth such store in China. Like with many other flagship stores around the world, there are many large builds that feature many local landmarks including the Broken Bridge at the West Lake, the Six Harmonies Pagoda, and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.

New LEGO® flagship store opened in Hangzhou celebrating local cultural heritage and creative play

Children, families and fans of all ages in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province in China, are now able to enjoy the unique LEGO® brand experience in the new LEGO flagship store which opened in the city today.

Located at Hubin, a vibrant shopping and entertainment centre in the city, the 527-square-meter flagship store offers an immersive and playful LEGO brand experience for shoppers. Besides a full lineup of LEGO products, hands-on and personal LEGO experiences are also available for children and fans to explore in the store.

Steps away from the West Lake, a key tourism destination, the flagship store will fascinate guests with creative builds that have a strong bond with local cultural heritage.

A 3D model of the iconic Broken Bridge at the West Lake, built with 694,760 LEGO bricks, is sure to catch the eye of every guest entering the store. The classic legendary story about Lady White Snake and her husband Xu Xian is translated into two 3D models. LEGO Announces Partnership with National Geographic to Inspire Children

Although we’ve already seen images of the summer 2020 LEGO City and LEGO Friends sets, LEGO has announced their partnership with National Geographic to inspire children about exploration and the protection of endangered species. These sets have the National Geographic label on the boxes and in addition, LEGO has also announced a contribution towards the National Geographic Society to fund grants in ocean exploration and species conservation.

The LEGO Group and National Geographic inspire kids to develop creative solutions for real life environmental challenges

New LEGO® City and LEGO® Friends products released as part of campaign to engage children in exploring their world and the problems its creatures are facing

Billund, Denmark, 25 June 2020: Today, the LEGO Group and National Geographic unveil their most recent partnership. New LEGO® City and LEGO® Friends sets have been developed to create awareness about exploration and the protection of endangered species in the world’s jungles and oceans. To support the launch and engage children even further, a campaign has been developed in collaboration with National Geographic to encourage children to explore the world and maybe even develop their own creative ideas on solving the real-life challenges our world is facing. The campaign site is now live in English on LEGO.com/exploretheworld and will launch July 1st in additional languages. The LEGO Group is also announcing a contribution towards the National Geographic Society to fund grants in ocean exploration and species conservation.

LEGO Marvel Iron Man Helmet (76165) Randomly Stocking at Target

For those who have been waiting for the LEGO Marvel Iron Man Helmet (76165), Target has been selling it early on their site. It retails for $59.99 and it has been going in and out of stock for a few days according to my sources. There’s no set time on when they restock but it’s usually between 5am-6am PST. I’m not sure if they are going by their original release date of June 21 or if they’re selling it early on accident. If it’s not a priority, it’ll be widely available starting on August 1. On another note, the Iron Man Hulkbuster versus A.I.M. Agent (76164) is also now available at Target.
