LEGO Super Mario Product Range Officially Revealed

The LEGO Super Mario theme was announced back in March and LEGO has been sharing various expansion sets here and there but today, they have revealed the full product range for the theme. There are a total of 16 sets that will be available starting on August 1.

I’ve been playing with a few of the sets for a few weeks and was also invited to the super secret LEGO Super Mario Championship which I competed in various challenges against other Recognized LEGO Fan Media. I believe I finished 5th in our pool of eight participants. It was a good experience to test out the product and I have a feeling that kids will enjoy it as well.

We’ve been sent over a slew of images of the sets but I just want to highlight the box and the sets themselves. There’s also a press release that includes the prices for them as well.

LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course (71360) Pre-Orders Open Again on Shop@Home

If you missed out on the pre-order for the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course (71360) on Shop@Home a few months back, LEGO now has it open again for orders. The set costs $59.99 and it will be available starting on August 1. Unfortunately, the pre-order doesn’t include the Monty Mole & Super Mushroom Expansion Set (40414) promotional bonus that was included during the first wave of pre-orders. So far, it does seem that LEGO Super Mario is fairly popular but we’ll see once all the sets are released this fall.

Star Wars Celebration 2020 Cancelled

Star Wars Celebration 2020 is supposed to be held in August but the organizers have announced that the convention has been cancelled. As we know, LEGO usually has an exclusive set that is sold to attendees there but it looks like that won’t happening since there’s no place to sell it. If they did have a set planned, we’re not sure how, when, or where they would distribute it. The easiest way is to drop it on LEGO Shop@Home but even that has some logistical issues. Star War Celebration will be returning to Anaheim in 2022.

LEGO Crocodile Locomotive (10277) Officially Announced

LEGO has officially announced the next 18+ set with the Crocodile Locomotive (10277). The set has 1,271 pieces and it will retail for $99.99. Although there’s no press release for the set, we do know that it will be available on LEGO Shop@Home starting on July 1. Train enthusiasts will be interested in this set due to the fact that it is the first crocodile design train LEGO has done since 1991 with 4551. It does allow the use of a Technic Large Motor, sold separately, and you will be able to control it using the Powered Up! app. Check out high quality images of the set below.

LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters (43179) Officially Announced

Today is full of announcements as LEGO has announced their second set of the day with the LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters (43179). Releasing on July 1, the set has 1,739 pieces and will retail for $179.99. The 18+ set features Mickey and Minnie as poseable characters and they also come with a variety of accessories. Check out the press release and more images of the set below.

Watch First Couple Episodes of LEGO Monkie Kid

The LEGO Monkie Kid theme has been available for about a month now and there’s also an animated TV series that will be airing as well. I’m not sure exactly when or where it aired but the first couple of episodes have already been uploaded to YouTube. I’ve just watched it and it’s actually not that bad. The animation studio for LEGO Monkie Kid is Flying Bark Productions which is the same one that did Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles if you watched that show. The first episode jumps right into the action and basically gives you the premise of the story.

The tale begins when an ordinary boy, Monkie Kid, finds Monkey King’s legendary staff and he becomes the chosen one. Together with his brave and loyal friends, Monkie Kid begins his quest to stop the Demon Bull King and his army of Bull Clones from taking over the city.
