July is here and that means new LEGO sets and promotions are now live on LEGO Shop@Home. First is the Double VIP Points promo that is running from now until July 7.

There are also brand new LEGO sets that are now available including the Dragon Boat Race (80103) and sets from various themes like Harry Potter, Jurassic World, and Minecraft.

It seems to have been a while since I’ve done one of these but here’s the monthly recap of LEGO news from the month of June. There’s been a lot of news this month including reveals and other important LEGO updates that will be happening soon so this will be a longer recap.

Last Day for LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) Promotion

Today is the last day to get your orders in on LEGO Shop@Home if you want to get the LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) set. It is available with purchases of $99 or more until 11:59 EST. The new lineup of summer 2019 sets should also be available when the promotion is supposed to be over tonight so you can potentially get the new sets while also the promo is still live. I suggest checking in at that time to see if that is the case.

LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers Review

A few days ago, the LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers building event was held at LEGO Brand Stores around the US. If you remember, the build was originally at the Flatiron and Leicester flagship stores when The Upside Down (75810) was released.

The build is pretty straightforward with it just stacking bricks. The outer part of it uses some brown antenna pieces to represent the sticks that are on the outside of the castle. There’s a flag for the cloth used as the entrance but the interior is empty. I do like the addition of the tire sitting on the outside of it. The main thing here are the exclusive stickers for Castle Byers and the All Friends Welcome sign. These were given after you finished the build but if you’re building it with your own bricks, there are some available on eBay.

Below is the parts list for Castle Byers as well as updated scans of the building instructions with better color quality. I do appreciate LEGO doing this building event for the rest of the US as many fans were pretty vocal about having it at only two stores around the world. I do feel bad for those who paid $100+ on the secondary market to get it though.

Last Day to Order from BrickLink AFOL Designer Program

Today is the last day to put in your orders for the BrickLink AFOL Designer Program. If you’ve been waiting until the last minute to purchase one of the 12 remaining sets, now is the time to pull the trigger. The only set so far to sell out is the Löwenstein Castle. If you didn’t know, each set will have an individually numbered sticker on the box sleeve.

LEGO Double VIP Points Confirmed for July 1

A few days ago, I reported on the July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar and its promotions. One thing that was missing from the list was the Double VIP Points event that I said was coming next month. I can now confirm from the email blast that LEGO sent out this morning that there will indeed be a Double VIP Points event starting on July 1. I was told that it would run from July 1-7.

If you are able to hold off on your purchases for a few more days, you can get more bang for your buck with some extra points. In addition, there will be a lot of new sets coming out on July 1 such as the LEGO Seasonal Dragon Boat Race (80103) and the the summer 2019 wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets, just to name a few.

LEGO SDCC 2019 Exclusive Advanced Suit Spider-Man Minifigure Revealed

LEGO has revealed one of the exclusive SDCC 2019 LEGO Minifigures with the Advanced Suit Spider-Man from the 2018 Playstation 4 Spider-Man game. There are no details yet on how to get it whether it’ll be part of the lottery or the old lining up way.

Update: Attendees will have a chance to win this minifigure in a randomized instant-win drawing on Thursday, July 18. Additional details will be available closer to the show.
