Philly Brick Fest Early Registration Now Live

Early registration for Philly Brick Fest 2019 is now live and there’s only a few days left to do so at a discounted rate. From now until November 10, full registration for the event is $78 which includes special event opening ceremonies, a brick badge, goodie bag, display space for your LEGO creations, and more.

From the looks of it, I will be attending again next year and it will be my fifth year attending in total. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll be bringing The Brick Fan brick badges to give away to those who find me. I couldn’t get them in time for this year’s event. Just an insider tip if you’ve never been, there’s lots of activities there that is well worth the registration price and the event creators go out of their way to accommodate you.

LEGO FORMA Officially Sold Out

The Indiegogo campaign for LEGO FORMA has officially ended as all of the perks that were offered have been claimed with a few hours left over. The campaign was 1,334% above the 500 perk goal as there were 6,673 perks claimed. I’m not sure how that number came to be as the total number of perks that were available were 6,505. We now have to wait a few months for the delivery of the sets which is estimated to be sometime in January 2019.

In order to do that, they will also be launching some region exclusive sets in China to celebrate the Lunar New Year and it will be the first time that the company has done that for a specific country. You can read the full press release in the link above. Note that the image was provided in the press release and it has a confidential watermark.

The LEGO Group Announces Infringement Case Win Against LEPIN

According to the press release, the four companies, Shantou Meizhi Model Co., et al, are accountable for copying artwork for 18 LEGO sets and minifigures as well as using unfair competition acts. The courts have ruled that those companies will pay LEGO about RMB 4.5 million in damages. Check out the full press release below.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary (71042) Amazon Sale

The LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary (71042) is currently on sale over on Amazon for $149.99 which is 25% off the regular price of $199.99. This is probably the last time that you’ll see this set at this low of a price because from what I’m hearing, it’ll be retiring soon. This is also the last time that you’ll find a Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow minifigure for a set that is still available at retail because there are reports that Disney might be rebooting the franchise without Depp at the helm. Even if that report isn’t true, it sounds like he is done with the character.

Note that this set is sold by Amazon and not a third-party seller. Shipping is stated that will be within 1-3 months but they’ll usually ship it before then.

LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) Review

LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289)

Starting this week, LEGO will be releasing the LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) as a gift-with-purchase set at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home. It will be available from November 9-21 with purchases of $99 or more, while supplies last. This set has 374 pieces and it is the same microscale as the Hogwarts Castle (71043). The back of the box shows us some of the shops that are at Diagon Alley including Gringotts Wizarding Bank, Ollivanders, Flourish & Blotts, Quality Quidditch Supplies, and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The contents of the box include four numbered bags to two, a loose 2×14 gray plate, and the instructions.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Advent Calendar (75213) Sale

As we’re getting closer to Christmas, the LEGO Star Wars 2018 Advent Calendar (75213) is finally on sale at some retailers. The new Target ad shows it is 10% off and is priced at $35.99. Amazon and Walmart has them one upped just a tiny bit with a 15% off discount and it goes for $33.99. If you have a REDcard at Target you get an additional 5% off so the price is pretty much the same after everything is said and done. Thank you to Eric for the heads up.
