LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) Not Being Retired Soon

As we all know by now, the availability of the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) has been sporadic since its release since June. We’ve seen spurts of it going back on Shop@Home and on Amazon then going temporarily out of stock again shortly after. Back in July, there was an update saying that production would run through 2018 so we shouldn’t worry that much.

A month goes by and there’s now a new rumor going around that it has been retired from production. Hasan Jensen from the LEGO Ideas team, this time on the LEGO Ambassador Network, has reiterated that,

The LEGO Ideas 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V set has NOT been retired and will not be retiring anytime soon either, as we wish to offer the chance for many more fans to get the opportunity to purchase a copy of the set.

This is another reassurance for fans who still want to pick up the set and just be patient on it as I’m sure LEGO is frantically trying to produce more as we speak. I feel that LEGO has learned its lesson on producing limited quantity sets such as the NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104) and the Research Institute (21110) as this set is equally, if not more, popular than the previous ones. You can check out Hasan’s full statement below and I’ll update if the Saturn V is back in stock, even for a short time.

It has come to our attention that rumours have again surfaced claiming that

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon (75192) Officially Announced

LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192)

After much rumors and speculation for the past few years, LEGO has officially announced the newest LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set with the updated Millennium Falcon (75192). This set has been teased for the past month and we can now finally talk about the highly anticipated set.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192)

As stated in the teaser last week, the UCS Millennium Falcon will have a whopping 7,541 which makes it the largest set in terms of piece count dwarfing the previous record holder of the LEGO Taj Mahal (10189) which came in at 5,922 pieces.

Not surprisingly, you would expect a set this massive would be somewhat pricey and it’s no chump change. The new UCS Millennium Falcon will retail for $799.99/CA $899.99/£649.99. It will be available starting September 14 for VIP Early Access and October 1 for the general release.

On to the features of the ship, as my rumor post from the beginning of the year, the Millennium Falcon will include details from the Original Trilogy as well as the from the newer Episode VII and upcoming Episode VIII films. This includes two sets of minifigures as well as the interchangeable antenna.

Check out the official press release, designer video, and additional photos below of the new LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon (75192).

The LEGO Batman Movie Bricktober 2017 Set Revealed

The LEGO Batman Movie Bricktober 2017 (5004939)

Traditionally, Toys R Us has been releasing exclusive minifigure sets for their annual Bricktober celebration and it looks like we know what this year’s set will be. PromoBricks has found out that we will be getting one for The LEGO Batman Movie (5004939). There are four different minifigures included but the one that stands out for me is the Easter Bunny Batman which I’ve been waiting on for a while. As shown on the top of the box, this set is the second of four sets that will be available.

There’s no word yet on how to get it during Bricktober but usually it’s with a certain dollar amount purchase, most likely at $75 or more. If there are any left over from the promotional period, they are sold by themselves.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Mini Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428) Polybag Review

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Mini Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428)

From September 4-21, LEGO will be having a The LEGO Ninjago Movie promotion in which you can get a free Mini Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428) polybag with a purchase of $35 or more. I got the 60 piece polybag during TLNM panel at San Diego Comic Con 2017 but I was holding off on reviewing it until I got another one since that one is kind of exclusive with the labels on the polybag.

The build is pretty straight-forward and it uses a lot of the smaller ball joint pieces for the head, body, legs, and tail. The dragon itself is smaller than your standard minifigure but it is long. Like with its larger counterpart, it can be displayed in a number of poses due to it having the ball joint pieces. Some interesting parts useage include a pearl-gold bucket handle for the horns and a sai for the tip of the tail.

There are some things that look kind of off as well. First is the blue eyes. In the larger version, the eyes are actually green. Another thing that bugs me a little more are the feet. I wished that LEGO would have used the modified 1×1 tooth piece instead since it would’ve worked better.

Overall, The LEGO Ninjago Movie Mini Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428) polybag isn’t the most glamorous polybag out there but it’s a decent one and fairly easy to obtain. Again, it will be available for a majority of September with a $35 purchase.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) is Bigger Than Largest LEGO Shopping Bag

LEGO Star Wars

LEGO has revealed another teaser today for the supposed LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192). The UCS Death Star can fit in the largest LEGO shopping bag but this mystery set won’t be able to and may need some help taking it to the car.

We’ve already had a few teasers already with a pretty big one last week when they said that this set would have 7,541 pieces. We’re inching closer to the official reveal on Force Friday II this week so there’s something very exciting coming soon.

LEGO Ideas NASA Space Shuttle Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The NASA Space Shuttle (Saturn V Scale) by KingsKnight is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. Continuing with the hype of space type projects on LEGO Ideas, the project is a representation of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. It proposed the shuttle itself along with the rocket boosters and the external tank which are both removable. It also has the robotic arm that comes out of the shuttle as well. The set is built to the same scale as the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309).

The NASA Space Shuttle now joins Gilmore Girls – Luke’s Diner, Wonders of Peru, NF-15B Research Aircraft, and I Am Your Father as the projects to reach the Second 2017 Review Stage.
