LEGO Third 2016 Review Stage Winner Announced

LEGO has just announced the results of the Third 2016 Review Stage over on the LEGO Ideas blog. The projects that were under consideration include Boat Repair Shop, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Bus” Hulkbuster UCS, LEGO Store Modular Version, Red Dwarf, Landrover 4×4, Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI, Vintage Tram, 1950’s Diner, Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan, Rey’s Speeder, and The Iron Giant as well as Voltron – Defender of the Universe which was held over from the Second 2016 Review Stage.

And the winner is…

Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan

It was also announced that Voltron – Defender of the Universe passed the review as well and I’m really excited for that one as a long time fan of the show.

LEGO is already working on the sets and they will be released sometime in 2018. Check out the video below for the full announcement. Were these the projects that you were rooting for to be chosen?

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Double VIP Point Promotion

LEGO is having a promotion on some The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets in which you can earn Double VIP Points. The promo isn’t widely advertised on the product pages but the points are shown in the shopping cart. If you’re thinking about picking up some of these sets anyways, now is more of an incentive to get them. The promo is also available at LEGO Brand Stores and will run until the end of August.

LEGO Architecture LEGO House (21037)

The LEGO House in Billund opens on September 28, 2017 and to commemorate the opening, there will be a LEGO Architecture LEGO House (21037) set coming out for it. One thing I will say about it is that it looks really good and it is color coordinated to show the different zones in the LEGO House. There’s no information on piece count, price point, or if it will be available worldwide as a regular set or not however the building instructions are now available if you want to build your own.

Update: Counting up the parts inventory, there are 774 pieces in this set, not including any extra small parts.

Thanks for Norman on the news. Image via Brickset.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) Hidden in Teaser Post?

LEGO Mystery Set

Yesterday, LEGO did a teaser post for a new set that is releasing soon which will come in a box 4.86 times larger than the LEGO Creator London Bus box. Some Photoshop experts over on Reddit have done some x-ray editing on the image and have found out something really peculiar about it. They have actually found out that there is indeed a set inside the wrapper. As you can see from the image below (click to expand), you can clearly see the LEGO logo at the corner and you can faintly see what appears to be the cockpit for the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192).

I know fans have been waiting for an updated UCS Millennium Falcon for a long time and it looks like that dream may be coming true. LEGO has been dropping hints for many months now from shadowed outline on boxes to past designer videos but LEGO should be announcing something very soon as there is a VIP early access set starting on September 14.

LEGO Education Panama Canal (2000451) Now Available Worldwide

LEGO Education Panama Canal (2000451)

Last year, I reported on the LEGO Education Panama Canal (2000451) which was only available locally in Panama. Yesterday I’ve received an email from Juan from the marketing team at the Panama STEM website saying the set can now be purchased and shipped anywhere in the world.

It’ll still go for $249.95 but it has free Priority Mail International shipping to the US. They also ship worldwide using DHL. It’s not a bad price but if you’re a collector of these kinds of exclusive sets, it’s cheaper than what you would find on eBay.
