LEGO Nexo Knights Rumored 2018 Sets

LEGO Nexo Knights

We’ve just passed the first half of the year and it looks like we’re starting to get details of what could be coming out for 2018. Sir von Lego over on Eurobricks has reported on some rumored 2018 LEGO Nexo Knights sets. Some may have thought the theme was going to end soon but it doesn’t seem like it now. Keep in mind that these sets aren’t confirmed yet but the OP is known to give correct information in the past.

More LEGO 2017 Promotional Pod Polybags Revealed

LEGO Nexo Knights Armor Pod (5004914)

Yesterday, there were a lot of LEGO promotion products that were revealed over on Bouwsteenjes and one type of product that were in shown various themes were the pod polybags. The pod polybag was first introduced with the Batman Battle Pod (5004929) from The LEGO Batman Movie and LEGO has expanded the idea to other themes.

I’ve already talked about one for The LEGO Ninjago Movie with Kai’s Dojo Pod (5004916) but there are also ones for LEGO Nexo Knights and LEGO Friends.

For the LEGO Nexo Knights Armor Pod (5004914), there is a knight minifigure along with a sword and shield as accessories. I do like in front of the pod, you have the Classic Space logo on the badge.

The other pod polybag is the Ski Pod (5004929) for LEGO Friends. The minidoll included in this set is Emma in her ski outfit which appears to be exclusive to this pod. For the accessories, there are some skis, a helmet, and a trophy.

There are no information on when or how you will be able to obtain these LEGO pod polybags at this time but I’ll let you know when the details are available.

Take a Trip Down Memory Lane in the LEGO Archive Vault

A few weeks ago, Josh Hanlon from Beyond the Brick was able to attend LEGO Fan Media Days and he has given LEGO fans a look at something that most of us probably won’t be able to see in real life, the LEGO Archive Vault, aka Memory Lane. It is located under the LEGO Idea House and it contains almost every single LEGO set that has been produced. Attendees of the LEGO Inside Tour are also able to check it out.

LEGO designers and other employees also go down to the Vault to do research or reminisce about their childhood. Since LEGO adds to the Vault every year, that means that they are running out of room and will soon have to move it to another location. You’ll notice that in the beginning of the film, Josh notes that there are already upcoming sets that haven’t been released yet that are already on the shelves which is blocked off.

If you have half a hour to spare, I highly recommend you taking a look at the video as there are lots of cool stuff that were shown off. Did you see sets that you have/had that were from your childhood?

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Ornament (5004934)

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Ornament (5004934)

It’s never too early for Christmas news and it looks like we have a first look at a new LEGO Seasonal Christmas Ornament (5004934). As you can see from the images, it’s a new concept consisting of 66 pieces which includes small builds like a tricycle, race car, a gift, and a couple of minifigures. You also notice that part of the build comes out from the top of the box. That’s because the box itself is the ornament and it doesn’t look like there’s an actual tree build which is disappointing.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Promotional Products

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Kai's Dojo Pod (5004916)

Brickset has uploaded official images of some of the promotional products for upcoming The LEGO Ninjago Movie. There’s no information on how or when these products will be available at this time. We’ll just have to wait and see if they show up on the LEGO Store Calendars or at Toys R Us weekly ads.

First is the Kai’s Dojo Pod (5004916) which basically is similar to The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929). The difference here is is that it is red with an image of Kai’s mask on the front of the pod and it includes a Kai minifigure in a white dojo outfit. You also get a shelf filled with training accessories as well.

Next up is a Master Wu Keychain (5004915) polybag. He is not exclusive as this minifigure appears in a few of the The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets.

Finally, we have The LEGO Ninjago Movie Movie Maker Polybag (5004394). If you saw my post from earlier today, there’s also a full on Movie Maker Set (853702) and this is a smaller version of it. It appears that this polybag will include a different minifigure than the larger set as this one features Jay in a white training outfit.

LEGO Artist Dan Veesenmeyer at San Diego Comic Con 2017

If you’re heading to San Diego Comic Con in a few weeks, a familiar face in the LEGO community will be returning to Artist Alley. Dan Veesenmeyer will again be attending and he will have some limited edition 8″x11″ prints available for purchase for $10 each. These prints feature Wonder Woman, Princess Leia, and Spider-Man in their LEGO minifigure forms and are limited to just 40 prints each.

If you’ve already order some commissions from Dan or want to get some of the ones listed above, you can pick them up at Artist Alley Table #EE-21. Dan will also have daily, on-site sketches but those usually fill up very quickly so get there early after the exhibit doors open.

If you’re not familiar with Dan’s work, he has created art for the LEGO Club Magazines, LEGO Marvel Avengers, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, and a new book called LEGO Ninjago: How to Draw Ninja, Villains, and More!, just to name a few. Be sure to follow Dan on Twitter and Instagram to get a behind-the-scenes look at his work.
