The new LEGO Marvel Studios Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71039) officially comes out in a few weeks and the most glaring issue with them is that they are packaged in boxes. This means that you won’t be able to feel out the characters like we’ve been doing so for years. In addition, the layouts of full boxes look to be all random so listing them on how they are set won’t help that much.
Luckily, LEGO has provided some clues on the boxes themselves. Underneath the box is your standard UPC code and next to it is a stamp with some random numbers. This is the secret to finding the ones you want.
Each character has their unique five digit stamp along with the serial number run below it. Even though some of the characters have the same top number, the bottom numbers are substantially far from the other one.
I’ve verified this with the box that LEGO sent over for review and the individual characters have their own run of numbers. Unless LEGO made a limited number of the set, the numbers could change later on so I can’t guarantee that they will have the same serial number run with future productions.
Agatha Harkness – 729S3:7000-8000
Moon Knight – 330S3:3000
Mr Knight – 629S3:3700-4100
Werewolf by Night – 330S3:5000
She-Hulk – 130S3:700-800
Hawkeye – 330S3:15000-16000
Kate Bishop – 526S3:2600-3800
Goliath – 126S3:2600-2700
Echo – 230S3:6000
Beast – 629S3:10000-14000
Storm – 629S3:18000-19000/h3>
Storm – 629S3:18000-19000/h3>
Wolverine – 330S3:11000
As you can see above, each character has their unique run of serial numbers which aren’t too close to the other ones even if some have the same top numbers. If my theory is correct, the variance could be from a few hundred to a few thousand but they won’t run into the other characters. I can’t verify this since mine came from a full box and all the numbers are so close. This could all be debunked if the number are way out there once the set is live and everything is all mixed up.
Again, I can’t guarantee that this is a foolproof way to finding each character, but hopefully it helps. If you found some in the wild this early, please let us know if your numbers are close to the ones above or not.
