LEGO Seasonal Christmas Snowman (40093) Review

Yesterday, we did our first of two LEGO Christmas Seasonal sets with the Reindeer (40092). The other Christmas set for the year is the Snowman (40093). The set has 140 pieces and retails for $9.99 for a really good $0.07/piece. The 140 pieces is the second most among the Seasonal creatures for 2014. The box has a small instructions booklet and two un-numbered bags.

The building of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Snowman (40093) is pretty straightforward. You start building the base of the Snowman which is pretty bland. Once you get through that and you start the details, he’ll start coming together quickly. When the body is complete, you build the head which is pretty much the same as the body but a little smaller. It has a orange cone for the nose and a horn piece to represent the mouth. You can flip it either way to have him have a smile or a sad face. Some accessories that the Snowman has is the top hat and a broom.

The LEGO Seasonal Christmas Snowman (40093) makes a great final set to finish out the year of these buildable creatures. Like with the Reindeer set, LEGO has gone with a generic snowman due to legality issues but it does have some references to the popular children’s character, Frosty the Snowman such as the broom, hat, and orange nose.

Again, it is now available at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home for $9.99. Like with the Reindeer set, the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Snowman (40093) makes … Continue

LEGO Bakery (40696) GWP Review

LEGO Bakery (40696)

Presumably the last LEGO shop set that will be released this year is the Bakery (40696). The set has 376 pieces and we’re assuming it’ll require a $200 purchase, similar to the previous shop sets.

LEGO Bakery (40696)

The front of the Bakery has your typical boutique style design with the two windows on the sides of the door. Inside the windows, there are two giant cupcakes which is probably deceptive marketing.

The awning uses a combination of red and dark red slopes. The bakery sign uses a sticker and there’s a croissant logo above it.

On the second floor, there are some more smaller windows with some dark green awning above them.

LEGO Bakery (40696)

On the back side of the bakery, it has an open concept as there is no back wall. This has stuck with all four of the shops that have released this year. The bottom floor has a showcase showing some of their offerings as well as a counter with more baked goods laying around.

The upper floor has some seating as well as an island of pastries in the middle.

LEGO Bakery (40696)

Overall, the LEGO Bakery (40696) isn’t a bad model but the thing that holds it back is the $200 purchase price requirement to get it. Although the model is fairly detailed, I don’t think it is worth the $200 purchase but if you’re already collecting the line, you’ll most likely get the last one. LEGO likes to double up on promotions for these sets so it’s more incentive to make a larger purchase so it’ll probably … Continue

LEGO Announces Global Training Program for Vietnam Factory Employees

Here they will learn the necessary skills and knowledge about the various manufacturing equipment used in LEGO production. Test production is on track to start by the end of this year with the grand opening scheduled for the first half of 2025.

LEGO Micro Ninjago City Sets Discounted in Rewards Center

Earlier this year, LEGO released the Micro Ninjago City sets in the Insiders Rewards Center and it doesn’t look like they are selling well because they have all been discounted. Originally, each set required between 2,300-2,700 Insiders points but they all now require 1,800 points to redeem. Obviously it’s a bummer for those who spent an extra 500-900 points to get them when they first came out but who knew that LEGO would discount them later on.
