The Brick Fan 2023 Recap

It took a while but I’ve finally had some time to do a 2023 recap for The Brick Fan. Some of you guys might not be interested but it’s for my reference since I love stats.

Our post count went down again last year, down to 885, however, we almost hit the 30 million page view mark. We barely missed it by just 100,000 views which sounds about right since we had less posts. Last year, it was more family time for me as I was taking care of my mom more after her cancer surgery and I prioritized that a little more than what happened LEGO-wise. I expect that’ll be about the same this year as well.

The highest traffic day was on May 1 with 251,277 page views when a lot of the summer 2023 sets were revealed that day. The higher traffic trend continued for the next seven days with over 100k views each day.

Unique visits and returning visits were also down due to me posting less which is understandable. Some days were just low volume postings simply because there was no LEGO news to cover. I didn’t want to post just to post unlike some of the more prolific sites. We should be hitting the 200 million page view mark early this year so that’ll be something to celebrate.

Our social media accounts are just chugging along with some small increases in followers. Again, the numbers could grow a lot more but I don’t advertise too much for them. I could … Continue

LEGO Ideas Dreamworks’ Shrek’s Swamp 2 Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Dreamworks’ Shrek’s Swamp 2 by The Real Ashnflash is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,000 piece build features an updated project that also hit the 10k goal last year.

The project joins Spirited Away, Appa the Sky Bison, from Avatar the Last Airbender, Venus Flytrap, and Minerals Display as the ones to reach the First 2024 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Minerals Display Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Minerals Display by ddf72 is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is a revamp of the minerals project that also reached the goal a few years ago but is now 100% buildable with parts that have been released since then. There is now also a case to hold all of the rocks.

The project joins Spirited Away, Appa the Sky Bison, from Avatar the Last Airbender, and Venus Flytrap as the ones to reach the First 2024 Review Stage.

LEGO Ninjago Micro Ninjago City (40703) Revealed

LEGO China has revealed a new LEGO Ninjago set with the Micro Ninjago City (40703) which could be a future gift with purchase set. It contains 339 pieces but the price requirement to get it is still unknown at this time. It is basically a downscaled version of the Ninjago City (70620) from The LEGO Ninjago Movie. If you look on the back of the box, it shows three other sets in silhouettes and it looks like it’ll be sort of a Houses of the World thing where there are Ninjago GWPs spread throughout the year.

40704 is the Micro Ninjago Docks and is based on the Ninjago City Docks (70657) also from the movie. 40705 is the Micro Ninjago Gardens and a smaller Ninjago City Gardens (71741). Lastly, 40706 is the Micro Ninjago City Markets which is the latest large-scale Ninjago set 71799.

Looking at the scale of them, they’re about the same size as the Houses of the World and my guess is that they’ll be a $250 price requirement if they are GWPs which I think they will be.
