The LEGO Movie Already Shipping From Amazon

The LEGO Movie Amazon Shipping Confirmation

A reader of the site has informed us that they have received a shipping confirmation from Amazon for their copy of The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition and is scheduled for delivery on release day which means that Amazon probably has them in stock already.

We’ve been keeping readers updated this past week on what has been going on with the Amazon/Warner Bros. dispute and we’ve been getting updates that the movie will most likely be delivered on time for those who already pre-ordered. Thanks again to the reader who emailed in the image of the shipping confirmation. Now I’ll just wait for mine to come in.

The LEGO Movie Amazon/Warner Bros. Update

The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition

Many people have been emailing me to ask if I had more information about the Amazon/Warner Bros. dispute and whether they should cancel their Amazon pre-order for The LEGO Movie and shop somewhere else. One of our readers got the following message when they inquired on whether they will be receiving their copy from Amazon or not:

Hello,

I apologize for any misunderstanding about the delivery estimate for your order. We rely on the manufacturer for release date information, and they’ve indicated that “The LEGO MOvie: Every is Awesome Edition” will be released on June 17.

Once this item has been released and we receive copies, we’ll be able to ship it to you. It’s not uncommon for there to be a delay of several weeks between the release and distribution of a new publication.

When your order is shipped, we’ll send you an e-mail confirmation. We don’t charge you for items until they enter the shipping process.

Judging by the wording of that email, it may seem that Amazon would not have copies in time for the release date. That is until our reader got a follow up email a short time later:

I’ve reviewed our previous correspondence with you, and I’m very sorry about the incorrect information you received.

I’ve checked with our Inventory Department within Amazon.com and confirm that “The LEGO Movie” is eligible for Release-Date Delivery.

The dispute between Amazon and Warner Home Video will not affect any of our Release-Date Delivery.

I can confirm that we expect to ship your order

Amazon Stops Taking Pre-Orders for The LEGO Movie

The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition

If you’ve been wanting to pre-order The LEGO Movie for Blu-Ray/DVD on Amazon, you probably noticed that you are unable to do so. That is because Amazon is in a dispute with Warner Bros. and the retail giant has stopped taking pre-orders on all upcoming Warner Home Video products which unfortunately includes The LEGO Movie. The reason is because they are trying to gain some leverage with their pricing tactics.

Since the middle of May, Amazon has stopped any pre-orders for any Warner movies but you can still sign up to be notified of when the items will become available. For those who have already pre-ordered the movie before Amazon stopped taking orders, there’s no word yet on whether we will still get it on release date or not.

The good news is that you can still pre-order The LEGO Movie at other retailers including Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and Target which includes The Everything is Awesome Edition that has the Vitruvious minifigure.

Amazon LEGO BOGO 40% Deal

I don’t usually do deals but Amazon has a pretty good one going on right now with a BOGO 40% off sale on select toys including LEGO sets from various themes like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Castle. Add a set to your cart and another of equal or lesser value and that one will be 40% off. Some of the sets already are already discounted so you’ll be getting a better deal.

One good deal is the LOTR Pirate Ship Ambush (79008) which has a discounted price of $82.50 and if you buy another one, you’ll be saving $33 on the second one making your total $132 or just $66 each. This is a pretty good way to build up your collection of ships. Another deal is the LOTR Battle at the Black Gate (79007) where you can have a full gate just like the film. Check out the full list of eligible sets here.
