LEGO Boost Ninjago Stormbringer (70652) Product Demonstration

Back at the 2018 New York Toy Fair, LEGO showed off some new products and one of the new things that I haven’t seen much of on other outlets is a product demonstration of the LEGO Ninjago Stormbringer (70652). We already know that it will be available on August 1 for $39.99 but over on Pixel Dan’s channel, there’s a live demonstration of the set. When you connect it with LEGO Boost (17101), you can program the Stormbringer to do a variety of functions including leg movement, head and movement, and even roaring sounds. The set looks a little crude but it does bring kids in to teach them the basics of programming with LEGO Boost and the Stormbringer is the first of hopefully many more add-ons to the base system.

The 2018 Toy of the Year winners were announced yesterday just ahead of the New York Toy Fair and I’m happy to say that LEGO wins big again this year. LEGO was nominated in five categories this year including:

Collectible of the Year – The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017)

Construction Toy of the Year – LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (75187) / LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean The Silent Mary (71042)

Creative Toy of the Year – LEGO Make Your Own Movie

Specialty Toy of The Year – LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192)

LEGO picked up three awards last night for LEGO Star Wars BB-8 as the Construction Toy of the Year, LEGO Boost for Tech Toy of the Year, and the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon for the Specialty Toy of the Year. This is the second year in a row that LEGO has won for Construction and Specialty Toy of the Year.

With some of the new LEGO products coming out this year, I’m sure we’ll be seeing LEGO again on the ballot in a few categories and they have a great chance for the coveted Toy of the Year award.
