LEGO Creator Winter Village Station (10259) Review

Traditionally, LEGO has released a new set every year for their Winter Village line and for this year’s offering, we have the Winter Village Station (10259). It has 902 pieces and retails for $79.99 which may or may not be a good value but we’ll see. The contents of the box incldue 9 numbered bags, the instruction booklets, and the train tracks.

LEGO Creator Taj Mahal (10256) Officially Announced

In a surprise announcement, LEGO has revealed that they will be re-releasing the original 10189 LEGO Creator Taj Mahal as a new 10256 set that will be available starting on Cyber Monday, November 27. The set will go for $369.99 and has 5,923 pieces. Check out the full press release below.

Build and discover the Taj Mahal! The huge ivory-white marble mausoleum, renowned as one of the world’s architectural wonders, was commissioned in 1631 by the Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, the Empress Mumtaz Mahal. This relaunched 2008 LEGO® Creator Expert interpretation features the structure’s 4 facades with sweeping arches, balconies and arched windows. The central dome, subsidiary domed chambers and surrounding minarets are topped with decorative finials, and the raised platform is lined with recessed arches. The model is finished with ornate detailing throughout and intricate tilework around the base. The 902 piece set will cost $79.99 and continues the Winter Village subtheme that is a tradition at this time of the year.

LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232) Confirmed to be Retiring Soon

LEGO has confirmed that the LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232) will indeed be retiring as per my report on some of the D2C sets that will be going away soon. The Palace Cinema was released back in 2013 and has had a very healthy shelf life of over four years.

If you’ve been holding off on getting it, now is probably your last chance to get it at retail price. I’m not sure if it will make it to the Double VIP Points promotion in October and I wouldn’t risk it.

LEGO has released the designer video for the LEGO Creator Winter Village Station (10259) which was announced earlier this morning. If you didn’t see the press release yet, the set will be available for VIP Early Access on September 14 and general release on October 1. The Winter Village Station will have 902 pieces and retail for $79.99 and is a companion set to the last year’s Winter Holiday Train (10254).
