Another Hint Sonic the Hedgehog is Coming to LEGO Dimensions

LEGO Dimensions has released another teaser video and this time it features Gollum with jumping at what appears to be the One Ring. Nothing too suspicious about that except the caption which says, “When it comes to rings, you don’t get in Gollum’s way. Unless you’re the new guy on the block! Find out who’s headed to Lego Dimensions this Thursday.”

If you rewatch the video, you can see the ring spin slowly similar to how the rings from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise spin. Coupled with the caption, this is hinting towards that Sonic the Hedgehog is confirmed the be part of LEGO Dimensions for Series 2. This was rumored before as expansion pack 71244. Just one more day until we see what LEGO Dimensions will be announcing!

Gremlins Coming to LEGO Dimensions

It looks like there was a new franchise that was snuck in a LEGO teaser earlier today in a tweet which is now deleted and replaced by another. Sharp eyes have found out that Gizmo from Gremlins was in the first teaser behind the Wicked Witch but was removed shortly after but you could still set Gizmo’s ear.

If you’re not familiar with Gremlins, it was a 1984 Warner Bros. comedy horror film that featured Gizmo who spawns other evil little Gremlins after an accident and they start causing havoc in the town.

Gremlins will be one of the many new franchises that LEGO will be bringing to LEGO Dimensions along with Harry Potter. Stay tuned as we get closer to an announcement this Thursday.

LEGO Hints at Harry Potter Expansion Packs for LEGO Dimensions

Over on the LEGO Dimensions Twitter account, they just tweeted a cryptic video of a minifigure with the quote “Only I can live forever. I’m a true Riddle. Who am I?” If you’re a big fan of Harry Potter, you would know that Lord Voldemort said the first sentence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and his real name is Tom Riddle. This can only suggest that LEGO will be announcing Harry Potter expansion sets for LEGO Dimensions this coming Thursday. Whether or not it will be new Harry Potter minifigures remains to be seen but stay tuned in the next couple of days for the official announcement.

LEGO Dimensions Announcement Coming This Thursday

Just a short while ago, LEGO Dimensions posted a little teaser of an announcement coming this Thursday, June 9. Rumors have it that the announcement will be some of the expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions Series 2.

This is ahead of E3 which is next week so I’m pretty sure this announcement will be shown more at the event if it is for Series 2. We already know that there’s some sort of promotion for the Supergirl (71340) and Green Arrow (71342).

Check out the teaser below.

As you can see, it has the golden RFID bases for the Green Arrow. There’s also another polybag that is reported to be given out with Supergirl (71340).

Disney Infinity Cancelled, More Fuel for Star Wars to LEGO Dimensions?

Just a short while ago, Disney Infinity SVP & GM, John Blackburn, announced that they have decided to discontinue the production of Disney Infinity. Their final retail releases will be coming out in the next month or two but that is it for the toys-to-life brand. As you may or may not know, Disney Infinity 3.0 was the home to Star Wars line and that’s why LEGO Dimensions didn’t have any expansion packs based on the theme. At E3 2015, Disney vice president of production John Vignocchi also stated that Star Wars will never come to LEGO Dimensions.

Does this announcement of Disney Infinity being cancelled pave way for the Star Wars franchise to come to LEGO Dimensions? If you recall, there was a rumor last year from a fairly reliable source on Eurobricks that there could be LEGO Dimensions Star Wars expansion packs coming in late 2016/early 2017.

There’s no actual correlation between today’s announcement and the rumors but who knows if there’s already a deal between LEGO and Disney/Lucasfilm to produce expansion packs for Dimensions. This could also mean that other Disney franchises could also be coming over to LEGO Dimensions. Stay tuned as I’ll definitely update if there’s any news, especially with E3, San Diego Comic Con, and Gamescom coming in the next few months.
