It’s August 1st and there are a lot of new long-awaited summer 2016 LEGO sets available for purchase from DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Ninjago, City, Technic, Friends, and Elves. I’ve been waiting for a while to post about this but now is a good time as ever to post them since some readers do need a heads up in case they miss it later on. There are now official images of the three LEGO 2016 Advent Calendars from Amazon France and I’ll upload the descriptions when they’re available. As for the release date, if LEGO follows the same trend from previous years, they will be available on September 1. There will be spoilers below so if you’re looking forward to opening the advent calendars, I would advise you not to click the spoiler tags or read any further.

More LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Friends Summer 2016 Sets Revealed

Earlier today, Just2Good has found some new official images of some summer 2016 sets including the LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu Battle Grounds (70590) and the LEGO Friends Heartlake Party Shop (41132) and the Heartlake Performance School (41134).

The Airjitzu Battle Grounds (70590) has 666 pieces and retails for $59.99. It is a medium-sized playset that incorporates the use of some Airjitzu flyers which are also included.

The Heartlake Party Shop (41132) has 176 pieces while the Heartlake Performance School (41134) has 774 pieces.

LEGO Friends Year-long Contest Announced

Over on the LEGO Ambassador Network, LEGO has announced a collaboration between LEGO Rebrick and North American Fan Conventions in 2016 with the Best Friends Contest.

Each convention in North America will have builds featuring the LEGO Friends theme and there, a semi-finalist winner will be chosen along with a winner from Rebrick, whom of which will win a collection of 2016 LEGO Friends sets including 41118 Heartlake Super Market, 41129 Adventure Park Hot Dog Van, 41122 Adventure Camp Tree, 41134 Heartlake Performance School. From the semi-finalists, one grand prize winner will be chosen to win a one-of-a-king life-sized brick-brick LEGO Friends fox.

The last day to sumbit entries on Rebrick is November 21, 2016. I will be at Philly Brick Fest in a few weeks so I look forward to seeing some of the LEGO Friends entries there.

Warner Bros. Announce LEGO Friends: Always Together DVD

Fans of LEGO Friends, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has sent over a press release regarding their next direct-to-home special called LEGO Friends: Always Together. This DVD will have three 22-minute episodes and is a continuation of the TV specials that air on the Disney Channel. Check out the press release below.

In keeping up with official images of some summer 2016 wave sets, the ones for the new LEGO Friends sets are now also available from Amazon. Included are some of the more highly anticipated Amusement Park sub-theme sets minus the two larger ones such as the Amusement Park Roller Coaster (41130) and Amusement Park Bumper Cars (41133). I’ll add those once those images become available.
