LEGO House to Reopen on June 22

Now that places are starting to open back up, LEGO has announced that the LEGO House will be reopening next month on June 22. There will be some changes that will take place when it reopens which you can read below. For those who are unable to attend, LEGO will be also continuing the LEGO House @ Home streaming activities.

LEGO House re-opens on June 22

We are so pleased to announce that LEGO® House is now opening again. From 22 June 2020, LEGO House will once again be buzzing with life and cheerful guests!

However, it is important to stress that the opening-up of LEGO House will be gradual and controlled and with a very limited number of guests every day to be able to keep the physical distance needed according to the health authorities.

To visit LEGO House all guests must book a ticket in advance at www.LEGOHouse.com – this also applies to annual pass holders.

New initiatives

LEGO House has made some important choices in terms of hygiene, so that guests can have a safe experience in LEGO House:

We know that hand hygiene is the most important factor in terms of mitigating the spread of infection. Therefore, we are doing all that we can to ensure the best possible conditions for optimum hand hygiene in LEGO® House with many hand sanitiser dispensers available in all the zones. Moreover, we are encouraging all guests to take care of themselves and to ensure they maintain good hand hygiene.

LEGO Announces LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery Interviews

The LEGO House in Denmark is still closed as the country has still not opened up but LEGO is looking to focus more on the virtual environment as they have launched recently launched a new YouTube channel for the LEGO House. They have also started a new series for the Masterpiece Gallery in which they interview builders who have their work displayed at the LEGO House.

The long awaited statement from the Danish Prime Minister on Thursday did unfortunately not change the situation for LEGO House. We still hope that we’ll be able to open before the summer holidays but nothing is for certain yet. Therefore LEGO House is still closed until further notice.

Instead we have decided to bring some of the LEGO House atmosphere home to our friends around the world. For weeks we have been creating “LEGO House @Home content” for our social media channels with tips and building tricks for family co-building at home.

Now we are adding a new layer specifically for adult fans.

As you know the Masterpiece Gallery is dedicated to exhibit LEGO masterpieces built by AFOLs from around the world. We have initiated making virtual interviews with all the builders to let them introduce their models and the thinking behind them.

The idea is to regularly upload new interviews at the LEGO House Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtyUPWUSp6I3bLgr3BQqL0w

The first interview went live today – here you get a peak behind the scenes of the amazing microscale LEGO city built by Caroline, also known as @Caz Mockett.

LEGO House Dinosaurs (40366) Building Instructions Available Online

I know a lot of us are disappointed that we aren’t able to get the LEGO House Dinosaurs (40366) here in the US but our consolation is that LEGO has provided the instructions for us to build our own. Each of the dinosaurs have their own PDF and none of the parts are exclusive to this set. However, there are a number of them that are still very rare and don’t appear in many other sets but you can substitute them if they aren’t on the exterior areas of the build.

LEGO House Exclusives Available on Shop@Home – Not Available in US

In the middle of the night, LEGO released their LEGO House exclusive sets on Shop@Home for sale for a limited time. The US won’t be getting any of the sets due to legal requirements not on the packaging and instructions so we’ll have to find contacts that are able to get them. This is a real bummer because LEGO first announced that one of the sets was going to be available then they released a statement saying it won’t be. I believe the LEGO House is sold out but the other two sets as of this writing are still available in the UK, Ireland, and Denmark.

The LEGO House exclusive sets were produced with the intention of only being sold in the LEGO House Store in Billund, DK. As such, the packaging and building instructions for these sets do not contain the legal requirements necessary for distribution in many other countries around the world. The LEGO House Architecture set will be available in all European countries, while distribution of LEGO House Dinosaurs and LEGO House Tree of Creativity will be limited to Denmark, UK, and Ireland.

LEGO House Dinosaurs (40366)

UK – £74.99 | Ireland – €84.99 | Denmark – 749,00 kr.

LEGO House Tree of Creativity (4000026)

UK £59.99 | Ireland – €64.99 | Denmark – 599,00 kr.

LEGO House Exclusives Shop@Home Distribution Reasoning

A few days ago, we reported that some LEGO House exclusive sets would be sold on Shop@Home sometime in May. There were a few of them that would only be sold in the UK, Denmark, and Germany and fans from other countries questioned why. We finally have an answer to that question coming from the LEGO House through the LEGO Ambassador Network.

The reason is the sets don’t have the legal requirements for distribution outside of those countries. This means the packaging and instructions don’t have the legalese on them to be sold. It’s very unfortunate but hopefully they hit the secondary market without paying an arm and a leg for them.

LEGO House exclusives to be sold via www.LEGO.com

The Covid-19 situation is closing down many great activities, and LEGO® House has had to extend its closing period until further notice. To continue to offer a little bit of the LEGO House atmosphere to all our fans, we have therefore decided to make the three existing LEGO House exclusive sets available via www.LEGO.com

The three products are:

The items will be sold at the same, or locally equivalent, RRP that we sell the sets for in the LEGO House.

We are planning to have the sets available on www.LEGO.com from early May, 2020. The LEGO House Tree of Creativity and LEGO House Dinosaurs are on limited distribution to UK, DK, and IE only and we expect to have a purchase limit for each customer. Please notice that this is a limited time offer until LEGO House re-opens and the sets are only available while supplies last. As the LEGO House Tree of Creativity is a discontinued set,
