LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Spinosaurus First Look

As we slowly get closer to the release of the LEGO Jurassic World video game, we’ve been teased with various clips and images of the upcoming game. Today, another small reveal has been released with our first look at the LEGO version of the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III. As you can see from the image above, Alan Grant, in an alternate outfit from JP3, and Billy is being chased by one of the main dinosaurs in the film.

If you didn’t hear from last week, various retailers will have different exclusives with Gamestop having the Gallimimus Trap (30320) polybag while Target has the Dr. Wu minifigure polybag. I have a feeling other retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon will have pre-order bonuses as well. The release date is tentatively scheduled for June 12.

More LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Pre-Order Exclusives Revealed

LEGO Jurassic World Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320)

Earlier today, the official LEGO Jurassic World Twitter account posted the Gamestop pre-ordericon exclusive for the game which is the Gallimimus Trap (30320) polybag. The exclusive polybag is cool and all but I’m not sure why the polybag is called Gallimimus Trap when the dinosaur being trapped looks more like a Compsognathus (Compy) or even a Coelophysis unless the meat on the trap itself is from a Gallimimus which is what I think LEGO was thinking when they created the set name. Although the bonus doesn’t show up yet on the LEGO Jurassic World product listings on Gamestop, you can still pre-order it and get it.

After doing some more research, I’ve concluded there’s an error with the polybag because the dinosaur included and listed on the bottom right says Gallimimus which is wrong. Gallimimus are toothless according to the official Jurassic World site. Plus they are omnivores but mostly eat plants so they probably won’t go after the piece of meat that’s in the trap. It seems that LEGO went the lazy route and just reused an existing mold and given it a repaint.

Target also has a pre-order bonus going for the LEGO Jurassic World video game and it is the Dr. Wu minifigure that we saw yesterday with the Amazon.de pre-order.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game “Exclusive” Minifigure Revealed

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game

We all know that it’s tradition now that LEGO video games will be including an exclusive minifigure and we’ve been patiently waiting for the minifigure reveal for the LEGO Jurassic World video game. Jurassic Bricks has found that Amazon.de has revealed the minifigure and it’s going to make a lot of people sad and/or disappointed. As you can see from the image above, we’ll be a Dr. Henry Wu minifigure which is pretty much the exact same one as in the Indominus Rex Breakout (75919) set.

As a fan of Jurassic Park, I would’ve thought that one of the main characters from the first movie like John Hammond, Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, or Ian Malcolm would be a great minifigure and be more exclusive but instead we get one that will already be in an upcoming set. Not only that, it’s the exact same minifigure. Hopefully this is for the German release of the LEGO Jurassic World video game and the US version will get their own exclusive but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Update: Gamestop and Target has revealed their pre-order exclusives for the game.

LEGO Jurassic World Concept Artwork

There’s an image floating around the interwebs the past day or so with the image seen above with people thinking it’s an official ad for LEGO Jurassic World. However, it’s not an official ad but some concept artwork by fellow reader Stanislav Ushakov that was posted on his Behance account a few weeks ago and I was asked for my opinions of it. He has also created some LEGO Jurassic World concept products such as a LED Torch and keychain. Obviously, these aren’t real products but the images are some very nice design work which shows a 2×2 red LEGO brick inside a piece of amber. It’s nice that people are showing off the above image but let’s give credit where credit is due.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Gameplay Details

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game

It’s been LEGO Jurassic World Video Gameicon centric here at The Brick Fan the past two days or so. There are now some gameplay details of it courtesy of Game Informer as they already got their hands on a demo version.

One of the details of LEGO Jurassic World is that there are over 100 playable characters. You get your main cast members from the first movie such as Alan Grant who can build objects from the environment, Ian Malcolm who can toss flares, Ellie Sttler who finds clues by jumping into dinosaur dropping, and Lex who can break glass. The most interesting character to note from GI is that Mr. DNA is also playable. What are his abilities? I don’t know but I sure hope that Greg Burson’s voiceover will be used.

As from the game description we have, you can customize your dinosaur collection by collecting LEGO amber to create new ones. It was noted that there are over 1,000 combinations that you can create, not including color and skin variations.

Some may wonder if LEGO Jurassic World will be as violent as in the movies. TT Games has proven that they can put a humorous twist to what are supposed to be violent scenes. One example is from the trailer the Muldoon scene where he is being hunted. The raptor pops up with fruit on its head. Another scene that has a playful feel to it is during the famous T-Rex scene when the power went out at the park and it causes … Continue
