Various 2014 LEGO Minifigure Images Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Clone Trooper (75028)

Our favorite Czech Republic seller Votvik has just sent us images of a few 2014 LEGO minifigures from a couple of themes. First, there is a Clone Trooper from the Clone Turbo Tank (75028) from the LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters subtheme. There is also a R2-D2 minifigure from the new Jedi Interceptor (75038) set.

Next up, we have what appears to be Lavertus minifigure from the Legends of Chima theme. Looking at our list of the 2014 Chima sets, it looks like he will be in two sets, Lavertus’ Twin Blade (70129) and Lavertus’ Outland Base (70134).

We also have a couple of images from the 2014 LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes. There is a closeup of the new Beware the Batman minifigure from The Riddler Chase (76012) as well as a Henchman from The Joker Steam Roller (76013) set. The Henchman wears an orange work safety vest with shades of green and purple. On the back of the torso, it reads “The Joker of Destruction.” Also note the head is from the Batman minifig and not the real Henchman head.

Finally, there are a couple of minifigures most likely from the City theme, a policeman with headphones and a robber.

Update: Votvik also sent us a cheerful guy who looks like he’s from the Camper Van with Canoe (60057).

LEGO Legends of Chima Scorpion & Spider Minifigure First Look

While doing my usual news finding on various LEGO communities, I came across something that many people will find interesting. Eurobricks member Karus has posted the above image of the LEGO Legends of Chima: Sticker Storybook which came from Amazon. The image gives us our very first look at a minifigure from the Scorpion tribe as well as from the Spider tribe. The Scorpion is mostly yellow and black and it looks like it’s wearing an armor piece that uses a simple hinge technique to attach the tail (see below). The head piece is also pretty cool looking with it’s emblem on top of the head and the mandibles in front of the mouth.

If you look towards the background of the cover, you can see a little bit of the minifigure from the Spider tribe. Although it’s not very clear, you can see some of the details for it. It’s brown and it looks like it’s wearing a grass skirt. You can also see it’s fangs on the menacing head piece. The four long legs are attached to the back probably similar to Doc Ock from the Spider-Man set.

My initial impression on these new characters is very good. I really like the look of the Scorpion and am looking forward to picking one it up when it comes out next year. Looking at the rumored 2014 Legends of Chima set list, I would guess the Scorpion will be in the Scorm’s Scorpion Stinger (70132) and/or in the Stinger Duel (70140). The Spider … Continue

LEGO Legends of Chima 2014 Legend Beast Set Details

Back in August, we reported the set list for the LEGO Legends of Chima sets for 2014. All About Bricks has also put up the list but with a minor detail that was reported before. Under the “Legend Beasts” section, they also included the words “New Small Boxed Sets”. CM4S over on Eurobricks chimed in that those particular sets are models of the Legend Beasts and also includes minifigures. My guess is that they’re buildable sets of the Legend Beasts and the major characters in the show will be riding them, like what Laval did in Episode 2 of the animated tv series. CM4S has been correct on many rumors so most likely this rumor will be true. Now we just have to wait until the official images are released.

LEGOLAND California Water Park Expansion in 2014

Today, LEGOLAND California announced a major expansion for the Water Park that is set to open Summer 2014. The 2.5 acre expansion will cost about $12 million and will be featuring attractions from the LEGO Legends of Chima theme. This expansion follows the footsteps of LEGOLAND’s sister park in Florida where they opened The World of Chima back in July. The cost of admission to the new area will be included with the admission to the LEGOLAND Water Park. The new expansion will be located in the north-east area of park next to the Pirate Reef attraction. Four of the eight new areas of the expansion were revealed today as well by park officials.

The “Lion Temple Wave Pool” will be the centerpiece of the expansion and will have a 30 foot Mount Kavora where water will cascade down. It it also show various characters from each of the tribes.

“Cragger’s Swamp” is a play area where it lets kids blast water cannons and ride water slides right into the head of a large crocodile.

On “Eglor’s Build-A-Boat, kids can build a boat much like the current Build-A-Raft attraction and race against other kids while dodging obstacles.

The “Wolves’ Cantina” is a food service area that will show off things from the Wolf tribe.

If you remember back in April, LEGOLAND California Hotel opened and rooms were quickly filled up. Officials are hoping that the new Legends of Chima Water Part will attract customers who want to say at the park for more than a … Continue
