I got two!

There are some new details regarding the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Rocket Raccoon polybag (5002145). Flickr user by the name of ryffranck029 went to his local Toys R Us and has managed to get a couple with his purchase. It was stated that the polybag is FREE with every purchase of $30 or more. It was also noted that the promotion would start on November 2nd and there were about 50 per store. This is for Canadian Toys R Us at the moment but hopefully the US would get the same promo as well. Avengers: Age of Ultron Teaser Trailer and LEGO Set Thoughts

Earlier today images of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer that was supposed to come out next Tuesday started making their way around the internets including the new Hulkbuster armor and Ultron. A little later the leaked video that the images come from made their rounds. Just a short while ago, Marvel decided that instead of waiting for Tuesday after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to premiere the teaser trailer, they “officially” made it public, partly because they believe they had no other choice since it was already everywhere. Their response to the leaks?

Now to the LEGO aspect of the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, we already know there will be about six sets related to the movie as well as a rumored UCS Avengers Helicarrier that we exclusively revealed.

How will the movie translate into the official LEGO Marvel Super Heroes AoU sets that will be released next year? It’s still too hard to tell at this point but I can possibly see Black Widow and her motorcycle dropping out of the Quinjet, (76032?). Also, if the the Hulkbuster suit looks somewhat decent looking, I’ll be happy. Hopefully, it’ll be a brick-built Hulkbuster that fits the Iron Man minifigure inside. As we earlier reported, the Hulkbuster would be around the size of Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy Knowhere Escape Mission (76020).

What are your thoughts on the trailer and how will the LEGO sets could fit in? Let us know in the comments below. … Continue

Will There Be LEGO Sets Based on the Civil War Storyline?

Variety is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. is in talks to sign on for Captain America 3 which paves the way for a new phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Civil War storyline.

If you’re familiar with the Cival War storyline, it pits Tony Stark and Steve Rogers against each other when they feud over the Superhero Registration Act. The Act forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their true identities to the government. Of course, many characters are for it like Stark and others aren’t like Rogers. The Superhero Registration Act includes many Marvel characters in the storyline including Spider-Man. Currently the Spider-Man franchise is owned by Sony but there are rumors they may be sharing the franchise with Marvel so both companies can use the character.

Will this news translate into official LEGO sets? My guess is probably since this is one of the most popular storylines in Marvel’s history but it’s still too early to tell. Captain America 3 won’t happen for a few more years but it’s never too early to speculate. What minifigures do you want to see in sets if LEGO does produce sets based on the Civil War? For reference, here’s a list of characters who are involved in the storyline.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Age of Ultron Set Details

After a couple of days of fairly quiet news in LEGO world, Sir von Lego over on Eurobricks has stirred up the pot with information about the 2015 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets. He has detailed some of the minifigures and prices for next year’s lineup for the Avengers: Age of Ultron sets that will be released next summer. Sir von Lego has given credible information before so I do believe the info is trustworthy.

Avengers “Iron Man” (76029) – 14.99 EUR
Avengers Offroader, with Thor (76030) – 19.99 EUR
Avengers Hulk, Scarlet Witch (76031) – 34.99 EUR
Avengers Space Ship, Captain America (76032) – 79.99 EUR
Avengers Tower (76038) – 69.99 EUR
Avengers Fortress (76041) – 59.99 EUR

From the list above, it looks like we’re finally getting an Avengers Tower that everybody has been asking for and from the price listed, it’ll be a fairly large one with some playability features. Of course, those aren’t the final set names but at least there are some details of who will be included in the sets.

On an related/unrelated note, I’ve received word from a source that we will also be seeing another Avengers set that nobody has noted yet, the Avengers Helicarrier. It will be a UCS type set with the price point around $300 and will be available next summer. I’m going to take this information as a rumor for now but it’ll be cool for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to finally see a UCS set considering that we got one for LEGO … Continue

Unannounced polybags seem to be running amuck the past couple of days with another one showing up today. This new polybag is the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Rocket Raccoon (5002145) and it appears that it is from an upcoming Toys R Us promotion. It features Rocket Raccoon in his Guardians of the Galaxy outfit as well as the potted sapling Groot. There is also a small sticker sheet with three Nova Corp logos and three Ravagers logos. The Rocket Raccoon is the same minifigure that was in the San Diego Comic Con 2014 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Rocket’s Warbird.

There’s no word on how to get the polybag at this time but you can pick it up on eBay. There have been rumors that the Rocket Raccoon polybag (5002145) will come with the Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-Ray/DVD release at TRU. We’ll keep you updated. Thanks to David for the heads up.

Update: There have been reports that this polybag was given out at LEGO KidsFest in Virginia this past weekend as possibly future KidsFest events like in Indianapolis next month.
