LEGO Guardians of the Galazy - The Collector SDCC 2014 Exclusive Minifigure

The Wall Street Journal has revealed that LEGO will again be giving out four minifigures this year at San Diego Comic Con 2014. They have revealed that The Collector from LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy will be one of these minifigures.

Now that we know that LEGO will again be giving away these minifigures, many people, including scalpers, will be trying to get their hands on one of these minifigures. There’s no word yet on how the giveaways will be handled given last year’s debacle.

LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy - SDCC 2014 Exclusive - Rocket's Warbird

The Wall Street Journal has revealed one of this year’s San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive sets, the LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket’s Warbird. The set will include 145 pieces and will retail for $39.99. Rocket Raccoon will have a different outfit than what he has with the Knowhere Escape Mission (76020), sporting the Guardians of the Galaxy outfit in this exclusive.

If you are going to be at SDCC 2014, be prepared to wait a long time in line to pick one of these bad boys up as these exclusives will be in limited quantities sold per day. There will also probably be a limit to how many that you can get. One of the bad things is the SDCC scalpers will be in full force hoping to make a profit on the sets and taking it away from real LEGO fans. I’m hoping to be able to pick up one of Rocket’s Warbird to do a review on after the convention. Thanks to Jim for emailing the report in.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril iOS

LEGO and TT Games has announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril is now available for Apple iOS devices. The game is essentially another port from the console version and pretty much the same version as the Nintendo DS and Playstation Vita. You can pick it up for $4.99 on iTunes.

Over 91 playable characters, such as Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and more can be unlocked as you progress through the game. Select character families can be accessed at any time through purchase via our in-game store.

Complete 45 action-packed missions as you chase down Cosmic Bricks across key locations from the Marvel Universe

Battle enemies using super power abilities such as flight, super strength and invisibility.

Use fast-paced combat moves and activate Super Moves like Hulk’s Thunder Clap and Iron Man’s Arc Reactor.

Marvel Announces Licensing Partners for Avengers: Age of Ultron

Licensing.biz is reporting that Marvel Entertainment has revealed their licensing partners for product lines based on the Avengers: Age of Ultron. The campaign will be one of the largest for the Marvel movies and will include companies such as Hasbro, Hot Wheels, and LEGO.

We’ve already seen many sets based on the Marvel movie franchises such as the first Avengers movie and Iron Man 3 so it’s not a secret that LEGO will be producing sets for the Avengers sequel.

Let the speculations begin on which characters will be made into LEGO minifigures. We’ll no doubt see Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow make their return again in this wave of sets. We’ll most likely see some new minfigs such as Ultron, Vision, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch make their debut as well. Can we also hope for maybe a Thanos minifigure too?

LEGO June 2014 Sets Now Available on Shop@Home

LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Knowhere Escape Mission (76020)

Earlier we reported that the new LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) was now available to purchase on Shop@Home. Now that June has arrived, some other sets are also available starting today. First are the three long-awaited The LEGO Movie sets: Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech (70814), Super Secret Police Dropship (70815), and Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (70816).

If those weren’t enough, the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Guardians of the Galaxy sets are also available today including the Starblaster Showdown (76019), Knowhere Escape Mission (76020), and The Milano Spaceship Rescue (76021). In addition, you can also get your hands on the X-Men vs. The Sentinel (76022).

The LEGO Friends theme also has some new stuff that just came out. The Jungle Accessory Set (850967) that we reported on a few days ago is now on Shop@Home for $14.99. A Model Catwalk (40112) for your mini-dolls can be had for $14.99 too. To tie in with the summer wave Jungle sets, there’s a new Jungle Playmat (851325) to build and display your sets on. The final item for the Friends theme is a Dolphin Bag Charm Key Chain (851324).

If you think that it, you’re wrong! The LEGO Minecraft Micro World The End (21107) is also available as well. The latest set to be released in the theme will also be the final Micro World set for the meantime while the minifigure scale sets will be released next.

Bubba_bricks on Instagram has informed us that Toys R Us stores is having a promotion where they are offering a FREE LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man Glider (30302) polybag with a purchase of any LEGO construction set. Quantities are limited so if you want to get one for free, head over to your local store and see if there are any left. You can also purchase them for $3.99 if you wish. The promotion is vaild until May 31 or while supplies last.

LEGO Marvel X-Men vs. The Sentinel (76022)

I’ve received an email from a reader that the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes X-Men vs. The Sentinel (76022) have shown up at a Fred Meyer store in Oregon. This also collaborates with a post from Brickpicker that another person found the set at their Fred Meyer. I believe the set along with the Guardians of the Galaxy sets are slated for a June 1st release so some of the sets might be popping up in stores a little early. The set contains 336 pieces and retails for $49.99 and includes Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Magneto, and a brick-built Sentinel. Thanks to Ben for the email.

Magneto is using his powers to control The Sentinel in an attempt to capture Wolverine. Fight back fiercely with Wolverine and the other X-Men, dodging the huge robot’s large laser-style weapon and rotating flick missiles. Swoop to the super hero’s aid with Storm and Cyclops in the iconic Blackbird jet, firing the flick missiles and the spring-loaded shooter.
