LEGO 2013 Set List

Brickset has found a list on a German toy shop called Wurst of LEGO sets that will be coming out in 2013. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty expensive 2013 so far.

LEGO Ninjago – Back in June, LEGO Community Coordinator Kevin Hinkle reported that LEGO Ninjago will be discontinued in 2013. The sets listed below might be some the last sets that you can buy from this popular theme. We’re not sure if there will be any more Ninjago sets after these.

LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Fire Robot (70500)
LEGO Ninjago Samurai Bike (70501)
LEGO Ninjago Cole’s Power Drill (70502)
LEGO Ninjago Golden Dragon (70503)
LEGO Ninjago Garmatron (70504)
LEGO Ninjago Temple of Light (70505)

LEGO Legends of Chima – In June, LEGO registered a couple of trademarks called LEGO Legends of Chima and Speedorz. This news set the LEGO community into a frenzy. This theme has been rumored to be the one to replace the discontinuing LEGO Ninjago theme in 2013. There have been pictures floating around the web of what Legends of Chima look like:

a series called Chima (imagine Animal heads like Cats, Lions, alligators, Eagles, Dogs, but with cool scars and minifig bodies, and they have Ripcords instead of Spinners.

LEGO Legends of Chima Razcals Raven Glider (70000)
LEGO Legends of Chima Crawleys Reptile Grabber (70001)
LEGO Legends of Chima Lennoxs Lion-Buggy (70002)
LEGO Legends of Chima Eris Eagle Jet (70003)

LEGO Legends of Chima Pictures Leaked

As you may have seen, there are some leaked pictures swirling around the web of pictures of the new LEGO Legends of Chima coming out sometime next year. The pictures are found on an eBay listing that ended July 15th. Two of the four pictures in the listing are marked “Confidential” and “Not to be copied or disclosed” and we here at The Brick Fan will be adhering to the wishes of The LEGO Group.

From what I see in the listing, it looks like that will be the theme that will be replacing Ninjago. There are spinners, animal head figures, and lots of weapons. A poster by the name of pezdez on the Brickset forums states that:

a series called Chima (imagine Animal heads like Cats, Lions, alligators, Eagles, Dogs, but with cool scars and minifig bodies, and they have Ripcords instead of Spinners.

So far, there are mixed reactions about the Legends of Chima. Considering these are pre-production pictures, I’m holding off any opinions about the theme until an official comment from LEGO comes out in the near future.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012 LEGO News Wrap Up

There were a lot of news coming out of the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con ranging from LEGO Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit to the Super Heroes theme as well as Star Wars and Ninjago.

On Day 1, the biggest news for LEGO Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit was The Unexpected Gathering (79003) set that is expected to be released this December. The set takes place in the Bag End where all the characters gathered. Again, all the minifigures seen are Gandalf, Dwalin, Bombur, Bofur, Bilbo and Balin.

For Day 2, even bigger news came out for the LEGO Super Heroes theme. First, there were the exclusive minfigure giveaways of Bizarro, Phoenix, Shazam and Venom. LEGO also showed off the new minfigures for the LEGO DC Universe line as well as the LEGO Marvel line.

Day 3 was the reveal of the LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit set. The Jabba’s Palace set fits right on top and The Brick Show has made a picture of what the combined sets might look like. Although in theory it might look cool with them connected, it feels incomplete without the mountain.

On the final day of Comic-Con 2012, LEGO released the trailer for Ninjago Season 3.

As you can see, San Diego Comic-Con 2012 was filled with reveals for many different themes. I personally can’t wait for all the sets to come out. What are you waiting for to come out?
