LEGO Pirates 2015 Official Images Revealed

LEGO Pirates Shipwreck Defense (70409)

The week long marathon of LEGO 2015 set image reveals by Just2Good continues today with the return of LEGO Pirates. The only set that is missing from the list is Treasure/Skull Island (70411). The LEGO Juniors theme also gets a Pirates set themselves. With the return of Pirates, the Imperial Soldiers also make their long-awaited return to LEGO sets. The last time we saw the soldiers was in 1991 in which they were replaced by the Imperial Guards who word red uniforms. Some older characters also make their return to next year’s LEGO Pirates sets like Governor Broadside and Captain Redbeard.

The Brick Bounty is the newest Pirates ship to be released next year. The name of the set was from ReBrick’s Name That Ship contest. In that set, it looks like there will be a new saw shark head piece.

Stay tuned for more reveals possibly later today as J2G hints that the next sets he will be revealing is “a war up in the stars.”

Update: Images for Treasure Island are now available via Spielwaren-Bludau.

ReBrick LEGO Pirates “Name That Ship” Contest Winner Announced

Early last month, we reported that ReBrick was having a contest called “Name That Ship” to name the next LEGO Pirates ship. Today on their blog, they have announced the winner of the contest is legobuffproductions with the new pirate ship called The Brick Bounty. He will receive a signed version of the set when it is available in 2015. The criteria used to pick the winner was that the name was:

In line with the values and identity of the LEGO brand.

Solid ties to the heritage of classic LEGO Pirate ships.

Appealing across genders, age, and languages.

Now the speculation begins on what the Pirate ship looks like as well as if there will be more coming out for the Pirates theme.

New LEGO Pirate Ship Coming in the Future?

Starting today, ReBrick will be having a contest to name a new LEGO Pirate ship. The contest will run until Sunday, April 13th and the winning name has the opportunity to be the name of a LEGO pirate ship as well as one of the new LEGO Pirate ship sets that is signed by the designer.

Does this mean that we will be getting a new LEGO Pirates theme with new ships in the future? From the looks of the contest, it seems that there may be one in the future especially with the “one of the new LEGO pirate ship sets” wording. What are your thoughts on this contest of naming a new ship and us potentially getting a new Pirate ship or even a fleet of them?
