New LEGO Technic Control+ Motor & Hub Images

LEGO Fan Media Days is going on right now in Billund and a number of RLFM are in attendance for some exclusive interviews and presentations. Unfortunately, I’m not able to make it but our colleagues at Brickset has posted some new images of the new LEGO Technic motors that will be used in future sets including an Off-Road Vehicle (42099) and the Liebherr R9800 (42100). Both sets will use the new Control+ alongside these new motors in which the Liebherr will use seven while the off-roader will have three. The hubs will also be equipped with Bluetooth functionality to control it through your smart devices.

Although I’m not a big Technic fan, I’m very interested to see how the motor and hubs will fit into the upcoming sets. It has been reported that the Liebherr R9800 was delayed until October.

First Images of LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100)

The new LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100) was revealed at the 2019 Nuremberg Toy Fair but there were no images of the set until the Bauma 2019 convention last week. At that event, LEGO showed off their new flagship Technic set that will be available on August 1. The 4,108 piece Liebherr R 9800 will be utilizing a new CONTROL+ system that allows multiple functions to work simultaneously using seven motors. There’s no word on the price in US dollars but it was reported that it costs 449.99€ in Germany.

LEGO Technic introduces CONTROL+ as a new smart device connected way of controlling the LEGO Technic products. CONTROL+ uses new electronic components and a free, linked app to give children and adults an even more authentic play experience. CONTROL+ allows realistic multi-function control plus a range of other options, including programming several simultaneous motion sequences for the models. The app also displays data feedback from the model. LEGO Technic CONTROL+ can be experienced for the first time from 1 August 2019 with the replica of the Liebherr R 9800, one of the largest excavators in the world. The LEGO Technic model consists of more than 4000 parts, seven motors and two smart hubs, and can perform several movements at the same time. “We see our new Control+ App as a platform where we in the next many years have the opportunity to develop and deliver deeper and richer LEGO Technic play experiences with the physical model at the center, and we are happy to have

Did LEGO Tease Another McLaren Set?

LEGO Speed Champions McLaren

A few days ago, LEGO teased an image of the upcoming 2019 LEGO Speed Champions McLaren Senna but camouflaged. They could either be teasing that particular set or could there be more to this image?

As we know by know, LEGO has partnered up with various car manufacturers to produce sets for the Speed Champions as well as Technic. This includes the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056) from 2016 and the Bugatti Chiron (42083) from earlier this year but what will the 2019 supercar be?

I’ve heard an unsubstantiated rumor that next year’s LEGO Technic supercar could be a McLaren but at this point, that’s all that is right now. If you remember back in January, LEGO revealed that the Bugatti Chiron would be released later in the year and will LEGO do the same thing next month? All keep in mind that the Nuremberg Toy Fair will be held at the end of January as well and that’s where we got the first information about the Bugatti. Stay tuned for more details as they happen.

It contains 3,599 pieces and retails for $349.99 and is the second 1:8 scale Ultimate Technic supercar with the first being the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056) from 2016.
