LEGO The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures Official Ned Flanders

LEGO The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures Ned Flanders

It looks like the official Ned Flanders minifigure from the LEGO Simpsons Collectible Minifigures line has revealed via eBay. The minifigure shows Ned wearing his apron which says “Hail to the Chef” which I have confirmed with the screencap below that he did indeed wear it in the third episode of the third season called When Flanders Failed. In that particular episode, Ned announced to his friends at his barbecue that he was opening up The Leftorium.

Official LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Found?

LEGO Simpsons?

The user who listed the 2014 Flash minifigure has also listed on eBay minifigures of what appears to be Homer and Ned Flanders from the new Simpsons line. Could these be the new minifigures that will be coming out for the Series 13 Collectible Minifigures in 2014? If they are, I must say they have pretty big heads and could be fairly easy to feel for. Obviously the torsos and the legs are not the correct ones but at least we can see what the heads look like on the bodies.

LEGO The Simpsons Series 13 Collectible Minifigures Confirmed For May 2014

As we reported last month, there was a rumor that the Series 13 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line could be based on The Simpsons characters. Today, Nerdly.co.uk has confirmed that rumor to be true. In May 2014, Series 13 of the Collectible Minifigures line will be based on 16 Simpsons characters including Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Moe, Itchy and Scratchy, and a few more of the animated TV show’s characters will be released. Nerdly also reports that the only LEGO system set to be released in the first quarter of 2014 will be the Simpsons House on 742 Evergreen Terrace which will be available direct-to-consumers at LEGO brand stores and on Shop@Home in April 2014. Finally in May 2014, there will be a special LEGO Simpsons TV episode, very similar to LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace and The Empire Strikes Out. The Simpsons’ director David Silverman has also confirmed the news via Twitter:

Rumors: LEGO The Simpsons For Series 13 Collectible Minifigures?

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that The Simpsons were indeed confirmed for release sometime in the future. Today, All About Bricks is reporting that the Series 13 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line will be based on The Simpsons and future Collectible Minifigures releases will be licensed characters. They have also noted that the there will be no sets but just minifigures to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the show. This news is a total opposite of the rumored sets that was supposedly being released this winter.

Let’s think about this for a minute here. If this is true, it will be a dramatic change from LEGO especially for a new theme. I’m not sure if it will be profitable with only minifigures because people most likely will not be looking for multiples of the same character. We don’t need an army of Bart minifigures, do we? It was already announced that Series 12 will be based on The LEGO Movie but that is to coincide with the huge movie event. For the company to create just a line of minifigures for a new theme is unheard of, aside from the Collectible Minifigure series.

Although these are just rumors, All About Bricks have been correct on many other things so we will see if this whole Simpsons thing is true. Stay tuned for more Simpsons news as they come.

Update: The rumors are now confirmed. Read more about it here.

Fallout From Confirmed LEGO The Simpsons News

Disclaimer: The images used in this post are from a proposed LEGO CUUSOO project and not what the official Simpsons sets will look like.

You may have heard by now but this morning, it was confirmed that LEGO will be releasing sets based on The Simpsons theme. This was somewhat of shocking news because all that we heard of it was just rumors. Now that we know there will indeed be The Simpsons sets in 2014, there are also some fallout from this major news.

Over on LEGO CUUSOO, there were projects that were based on The Simpsons theme such as B. Parsons’ project called “The Simpsons Project” that was started on March 16, 2012. We’ll just use this project as an example. If you try to go to the link, you will be greeted with “Project Deleted – This project has been removed for not following the Guidelines” label. Since there will be official LEGO The Simpsons sets coming out next year, CUUSOO has deleted all Simpsons-related project off the site. There are no traces of it anywhere on any major search engines, no cached page, nothing. The only thing that I could find was on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. The last snapshot of it active was on June 27, 2012 so we’re not exactly sure when the projects were deleted or how many supporters they had.

The point is that these projects on LEGO CUUSOO may or may not have passed the review stage if they ever achieved the … Continue

LEGO The Simpsons Confirmed For 2014

Back in March, we reported there were rumors that The Simpsons would be coming in LEGO form. Today, the rumors are now a reality. The same Danish newspaper has confirmed that there will indeed be LEGO The Simpsons sets coming in 2014. According to DR.dk with the help of Google translate:

One of the most-loved, arch American families are now emerging as LEGO figures. These are the yellow cartoon family, The Simpsons. We get both Homer, Bart, Marge and the other to look to next year, says Mads Nipper, marketing director with responsibility for product development, marketing and sales of LEGO.

The launch of the characters is a “small product news” in the beginning, but if the reception is strong enough, can quickly turn up the production. It will be a small launch, but it will hopefully be fun and exciting for those who like the Simpsons universe, says Mads Nipper.

At Top Toy with both BR Toys & Toys’R’Us in Denmark, there is no doubt that the new series is going to sell. The target audience for The Simpsons are teenagers and adults, but there are also many children who know them, says product manager at Top Toy, Carsten Nielsen. He has also seen the figures as they appear in the 2014 catalog, and he says that “they are really well made.”

At the 2013 San Diego Comic Con, we were hoping that LEGO would reveal The Simpsons since it was one of the largest entertainment conventions in the United States but it didn’t … Continue
