LEGO Announces Partnership with National Geographic to Inspire Children

Although we’ve already seen images of the summer 2020 LEGO City and LEGO Friends sets, LEGO has announced their partnership with National Geographic to inspire children about exploration and the protection of endangered species. These sets have the National Geographic label on the boxes and in addition, LEGO has also announced a contribution towards the National Geographic Society to fund grants in ocean exploration and species conservation.

Billund, Denmark, 25 June 2020: Today, the LEGO Group and National Geographic unveil their most recent partnership. New LEGO® City and LEGO® Friends sets have been developed to create awareness about exploration and the protection of endangered species in the world’s jungles and oceans. To support the launch and engage children even further, a campaign has been developed in collaboration with National Geographic to encourage children to explore the world and maybe even develop their own creative ideas on solving the real-life challenges our world is facing. The campaign site is now live in English on LEGO.com/exploretheworld and will launch July 1st in additional languages. The LEGO Group is also announcing a contribution towards the National Geographic Society to fund grants in ocean exploration and species conservation.

LEGO Creative Fun 12-in-1 (40411) Promotional Set Official Images

If you didn’t see the July 2020 LEGO Store Calendar yet, there is a promotion that will be running for most of the month for the LEGO Creative Fun 12-in-1 (40411). The set has 240 pieces and you can get it for free with purchases of $85 or more, while supplies last. The set is similar to the Christmas Build-Up (40253) from 2017 in which you can build a number of items using the parts given. For this set, it is summer themed and there are 12 things to build. We’ll have an early review of the set later today to stay tuned for that.

LEGO Ninjago: Master of the Mountain Official Trailer

LEGO has released the official trailer for the upcoming season of LEGO Ninjago: Master of the Mountain. The summer 2020 wave of sets will be based on this season in which the ninjas will be exploring the Dungeons of Shintaro. There’s no word at this time on when it will be airing.

This season on NINJAGO: Master of the Mountain: The ninja are invited to the beautiful Shintaro Kingdom to celebrate the young Princess Vania’s birthday. At first glance, the Ivory City looks like a pristine place, but the ninja soon uncover a dark, obscure, long-forgotten underworld: The Dungeons of Shintaro. Once inside, they must fight their way to freedom through a maze of tunnels paved with dangers and strange creatures ruled by the merciless Skull Sorcerer. The ninja must choose their path wisely…

LEGO Ideas Third 2019 Review Stage Winners Announced

LEGO has announced the winners of the LEGO Ideas Third 2019 Review Stage and the next projects to become an official set. There were 12 projects to choose from and there were three winners chosen for this round. First is the Home Alone – McCallister’s House, next is the LEGO Typewriter, and finally the Seinfeld 30th Anniversary. More details on these sets wil be shared later on. Congratulations to all the winners!

LEGO Ideas BMW M1 (E26) Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The BMW M1 (E26) by TOMOELL is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. There are two version of the car which includes the classic version that has 986 pieces and the racing version that has 1,059 pieces.

It now joins The Mountain Windmill, Community – Greendale Community College, LEGO HeroQuest, Brickwest Studios, House from Up, Animal Crossing New Horizons: Nook’s Cranny, Trabant 601, Night at the Museum, Fast Food Corner, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Portal 2 – GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley as the projects to reach the Second 2020 Review Stage.
