LEGO Brand Stores Extend Closure Until April 12

Last week, I reported that LEGO made the decision to close all LEGO Brand Stores around the world and yesterday LEGO gave an update on the situation. To protect everyone, they have announced that the LEGO Stores will remain closed until April 12 and possibly longer depending on local government guidance. This means the April set releases including the LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322) will be an exclusive online item until stores open up again. Delivery times may be impacted slightly during this time.

To continue to protect the health of our communities, the LEGO® Brand Retail stores we own and operate will remain temporarily closed until at least April 12, possibly longer depending on government guidance. In locations where government restrictions aren’t currently in place, selected LEGO stores owned and operated by our partners will remain open. Those stores are taking all the necessary precautions and monitoring the situation closely.

This is not LEGO news directly but Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Michael Denny as the Vice President and Studio Head of TT Games. He will be oversee strategy, execution and business operations for all TT Games offices and its portfolio of titles, including the best-selling LEGO videogame franchise. He will also introduce a new vision for the company which should be good news.

Maybe with this new appointment, Denny will bring new ideas to the table including new ideas to the already popular LEGO video games. After playing through the last few, they do get somewhat repetitive but the stories for them are top notch.

As we all know by now, the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video is their next big project and we basically haven’t heard of any new information since June and there hasn’t even been a release date announced for it. It is supposedly coming out this year but with the whole pandemic situation, I won’t be surprised if it gets delayed.
