LEGO xtra Sea Accessories (40341) Review

LEGO xtra Sea Accessories (40341)

Recently, LEGO has quietly released some accessory packs called LEGO xtra and at the beginning of 2019, they will be releasing another polybag Sea Accessories (40341). Priced at $3.99 each, the polybag has 24 pieces and it features items that you are able to find or use in a water environment. Some of these items include a lime green surfboard with matching flippers, a treasure chest with a printed 2×2 map, binoculars, a barrel, an oar, a couple of harpoons, a buoy, a couple of gems, and a shell with a star pearl. There’s also some animals such as a shark, a multi-colored parrot, and a fish.

If you’ve been wanting to find a cheap way to add some animals to your layout, this Sea Accessories polybag could be the way to go. The shark has been appearing in more and more sets but the parrot is still a pretty rare animal and will only be in the larger modular buildings such as the Assembly Square (10255) and Corner Garage (10264) so this polybag is the cheapest way to get it.

The LEGO xtra Sea Accessories (40341) is a a decent parts pack that gives a variety of water-related items. Again, it will be available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home starting on January 1.

The LEGO Movie 2 Mini Master-Building MetalBeard (30528) Review

The LEGO Movie 2 Mini Master-Building MetalBeard (30528)

As I reported before, one of the new polybags that have showed up at Walmart for The LEGO Movie 2 is the Mini Master-Building MetalBeard (30528). The polybag consists of 42 pieces and retail for $3.97 and it can be found at the LEGO aisle.

The build is basically a smaller version of MetalBeard’s crab mech which the normal version is in the Battle-Ready Batman and MetalBeard (70836) set. In the middle of the mech is MetalBeard’s head with his and, of course, his metal beard piece right below. The back has a crow’s nest that is attached on a ball joint. Unlike the regular set, this one doesn’t have a treasure chest with his internal organs. Although he has some claws for legs, there’s also a single wheel at the bottom to help him move.

This polybag is a 3-in-1 set so it is able to change into a three-wheel vehicle as well as a ship but the instructions for those builds are not available at this time but I’ll do a follow-up when they are. Again, The LEGO Movie 2 Mini Master-Building MetalBeard (30528) can be found at Walmart and if you need help to see if your store potentally has the polybags, head over to Brickseek and enter your zip code to check the inventory near you.

LEGO Overwatch D.Va & Reinhardt (75973) Review

LEGO Overwatch D.Va & Reinhardt (75973)

When the images of the LEGO Overwatch sets were revealed, my most anticipated one was the D.Va & Reinhardt (75973). The set features one of my tank mains in D.Va and I love how her mech looks. The set has 455 pieces and retails for $39.99. The contents of the box include three numbered bags, a sticker sheet, and two instruction booklets.

The set takes place in Hanamura in the Dragons animated short and it contains 197 pieces while retailing for $19.99. The contents of the box include four unnumbered bags, a small sticker sheet, and the instructions.

LEGO Overwatch Tracer vs. Widowmaker (75970) Review

LEGO Overwatch Tracer vs. Widowmaker (75970)

When the LEGO Overwatch theme was first announced back in May, I literally had to sit down at work and soak it all in. There was no actual reveal of the sets by LEGO themselves as we found them using some tricky methods. The LEGO Overwatch sets will be coming out in a few weeks and we were lucky enough to get our hands on the sets ahead of time thanks to LEGO. The first set I’ll be taking a look at is Tracer vs. Widowmaker (75970). It has 129 pieces and retails for $14.99 which is a little high but let’s check it out and see if it is worth the price.

LEGO Seasonal Reindeer Head Christmas Ornament (5005253) Review

LEGO Seasonal Reindeer Head Christmas Ornament (5005253)

Starting tomorrow, LEGO will have a new promotional item with the LEGO Seasonal Reindeer Head Christmas Ornament (5005253). You can get it with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home, while supplies last. After taking a year off, LEGO introduces the 28 piece Reindeer Head which joins the 2014 Christmas Train (5002813), 2015 Christmas Train (5003083), and the 2016 Toy Soldier (5004420).

Like with the previous ornaments, the parts are inside a little green pouch along with the instructions and the string.

The build is very straight-forward and the finished result looks a lot like a reindeer head mount which is kind of morbid. I do recommend changing the black 1×1 round plate for the nose to a red one to represent Rudolph as it makes the build a bit more festive.
