LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Snowspeeder (75144) Review

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Series Snowspeeder (75144)

It was just only a few weeks ago when the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Snowspeeder (75144) was officially announced but we’ve managed to get a hold of the set, courtesy of LEGO, and we’re happy to bring you this review of the set. Coming in at 1,703 pieces, the UCS Snowspeeder will retail for $199.99 and will be available starting April 29 for LEGO VIP early access and on May 4 for the general public. LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265) Review

LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265)

For the whole month of April, LEGO Stores and Shop@Home will be giving out a free 58 piece LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265) polybag with a $20 LEGO Friends purchase, while supplies last.

One of the more interesting things about the set is the packaging. It uses the newer softer plastic that you can easily tear open to access the contents.

LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265)

The build is very simple using plates as the base and tiles along with jumper plates to get the smooth top. There are five white bunnies and five light gray hamsters to use as play pieces. The hamster is actually very rare as this is only the second set that it has appeared in with the other being the Heartlake Riding Club (41126) which only has one of them included. Also fairly rare are the 1×1 dark magenta tiles and the 4×10 lime green baseplates.

LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265)

As the set name states, this is a Tic Tac Toe board in which a player has to line up three pieces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265)

As I mentioned before, the LEGO Friends Tic Tac Toe (40265) polybag is free with a $20 LEGO Friends purchase throughout the month of April. It’s a nice little travel-sized game that kids can take along during trips. For the collectors, some of the rarer pieces may be of interest.

LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) Review

LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252)

Coming on April 1, LEGO will be having a promotion for the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) which is a smaller version of the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) released last year. This set will be available with purchases of $50 or more, while supplies last, from April 1-15. Designed by long-time LEGO designer, Mel Caddick, the 141 piece set looks to be another great set by her. The contents of the box include two unnumbered bags, the instructions, and a small sticker sheet.

The front of the box has the same background as the larger Beetle to give it a consistant look considering they’re both the same vehicle. The back just shows another angle of the set.

Build

The build of the Volkswagen Beetle is very simple as it pretty much is just stacking bricks, as these smaller sets are usually like. There isn’t any difficult building techniques used so the build time should be relatively short.

As I mentioned before, there are stickers with the set and as an official licensed product of Volkswagen, there is a sticker of the Volkwagen logo right in the front. For the license plate stickers, its spells out M31 OD4 which spells out Melody. If you’re not familar with license plate stickers, the designers usually throw in Easter eggs that relates to them and in this case, the designer’s first name.

The rest of the stickers are for the side rear windows, the tail lights, and for the surfboard which again has the same color scheme as the … Continue
