The Rolling BB-8 project by mjsmiley is the latest one to get 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the new fan favorite droid and it is able to actually roll. The model uses only official LEGO parts including the Star Wars Planet shells as the body. The head is able to stay upright with magnets. The project also proposes a base station that is able to show the rolling ability with a crank.
The Rolling BB-8 now joins a plethera of projects that qualify for the First 2016 Review Stage including the Fossil Museum, the Gingerbread House, the Modular Train Station, the Old Fishing Store, the Jedi High Council, and Particle Accelerator, and the Jurassic Park Visitor Center.
