LEGO Panels at San Diego Comic Con 2016

The San Diego Comic Con 2016 schedules are out and surprisingly, there aren’t that many LEGO panels this year as compared to last year. I scanned the schedules and I’ve only found there are three and they are all on Sunday.

The first panel revolves around LEGO Dimensions and the new content that will be coming out in a few months.

The second one is for LEGO Ninjago and it will be discussing the latest season and also talk about the development of the sets as well as some new stories for Ninjago.

The final panel is for LEGO Nexo Knights and they will discuss the characters and the development of the TV series as well as the product design process of the sets.

LEGO Dimensions

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, and The LEGO Group offer Comic-Con attendees a new glimpse inside the ever-expanding realm of LEGO Dimensions. Be among the first to see a new trailer, new characters, and game features in this unparalleled mash-up game experience. Featuring key members of the TT Games development team and voice acting talent. All attendees will receive a limited-edition LEGO Green Arrow minifigure! LEGO Dimensions is now available for PlayStation4 and PlayStation3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the Wii U system.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Hulk vs. Red Hulk

The Hollywood Reporter has just revealed another 2017 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes set that will be displayed at San Diego Comic Con in a few weeks with the Hulk vs. Red Hulk set. The 375 piece set will be available in January at a $59.99 price point.

The set will include Hulk, She-Hulk, Red Hulk, and Red She-Hulk along with their respective vehicles. This set marks the first time that She-Hulk and Red She-Hulk is in minifigure form. Red-Hulk is basically the Hulk bigfig with some slight color differences.

LEGO Illustrator Dan Veesenmeyer at San Diego Comic Con 2016

LEGO news has been fairly quiet so far for San Diego Comic Con 2016 but here’s something that might be of interest to you if you’re attending. LEGO illustrator Dan Veesenmeyer will be attending the event in a couple of weeks and can be found at Artist Alley #EE-21. If that name sounds familiar, you’ve probably seen his work in the LEGO Club Magazines, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers video game, as well as an upcoming book for kids called How to Draw LEGO Ninjago.

Dan will be selling prints and doing commissions (first come, first served) for SDCC attendee throughout the weekend. The prints will start at $10 each and are signed and numbered while inked LEGO minifigure sketches start at $40. Kids will also be able to get free head sketches during the event. So if you have some time, swing by Dan’s booth and check out what he has to offer.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes 2017 Mighty Micros Sets Revealed

LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros: DC Comics Superman vs. Bizarro (76068)

LEGO has announced that they will be continuing the LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros line in 2017 and today they have shown off a sneak peek at some of the sets that will be coming next year.

The first set, shown above, is Superman vs. Bizarro (76068). This is the first time that the Bizarro minifigure has been in a widely available set and not the San Diego Comic Con exclusive.

Next is Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday (76070) in which Wonder Woman gets an Invisible Plane Mighty Micro made up of lots of clear pieces. Also Doomsday now becomes an official minifigure although he is the chibi version.

Last up is Batman vs. Killer Moth (76069). This version of Batman is the chibi version of the Adam West classic Batman which includes the retro Batcopter.

LEGO has hashtagged their post with #SDCC so we can probably expect to see these in person at San Diego Comic Con next month.

San Diego Comic Con 2016 is only a short few weeks away and everyone’s been patiently waiting for LEGO do some reveals of their own. Earlier today, LEGO revealed one of the many brick-built statues that will be displayed at the convention which is LEGO Ninjago’s Jay in his new outfit from the current wave of LEGO Ninjago sets. It was stated that it took builders 345 hours to create the 64,148 piece statue.

Rumored San Diego Comic 2016 Exclusive LEGO Minifigures

San Diego Comic Con 2016 is just around the corner and speculation has been going on about which LEGO minifigures will be given away this year. Earlier today, Sir Gareth over on Eurobricks has revealed that they are Captain America (Steve Rogers) for Marvel and the Atom for DC.

This version of Captain America is the recently controversial Hydra agent version of the character. As for the Atom, it will be from Ray Palmer from the CW’s Arrow/Flash series and the Legends of Tomorrow series. This will be the third character featured from the Arrowverse as the Green Arrow was given away back in 2013 and Arsenal from last year.

Of course, none of this is confirmed yet until they are revealed, hopefully soon, as exclusives from other companies have already been announced. Stay tuned as more details for LEGO in SDCC 2016 are released.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Action Comics #1 Superman Review

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Exclusive Action Comics #1 Superman

This past Thursday, it was technically the first day of San Diego Comic 2015 and as a tradition, many people got in lines for various things but mainly panels and exclusives. LEGO again this year released a few exclusives for sale at the convention and the first day was for the limited edition LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Action Comics #1 Superman. This was a highly sought after set when it was first announced back in June.

The set recreates Joe Shuster’s 1938 iconic cover which features Superman’s first comic book cover. The LEGO set itself contains 145 pieces and retailed for $40. Some people like to keep the set sealed to preserve its “value” while for me, I opened it, and provided readers with the building instructions since there was many who were interested in building their own.
