The LEGO Batman Movie SDCC 2016 Official Trailer Now Available

The LEGO Batman Movie

Earlier today at San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. had their panel and showed off all the upcoming movies they have on the slate including The LEGO Batman Movie. The official SDCC 2016 trailer of the movie is now available and it there’s all new footage to drool over, especially for all the potential sets that may come out next year.

The trailer also shows Michael Cera as Dick Grayson and him messing around with Batman’s other suits like El Murcielago, Glam Bat, and Raggae Man which turns out to be Robin’s suit of his choosing minus a couple of pieces here and there. There are rumors that there will be a minifigure series based on the movie so don’t be surprised if we see a couple of the suits in the trailer as actual minifigures.

The LEGO Batman Movie will be released in theaters February 2017.

Two The LEGO Batman Movie Official Set Images Revealed

The LEGO Batman Movie The Batmobile (70905)

Earlier today, LEGO has published official images of two The LEGO Batman Movie sets which are The Batmobile (70905) and The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906). We’ll see the two sets being displayed at San Diego Comic Con this weekend. Below is a little description of the two sets.

The Batmobile (70905) has 581 pieces and it includes minifigures of Batman, Robin, Man-Bat, and the Kabuki Twins. Batman has a new belt attachment piece while Robin wears some of the new green goggles which we saw before. Man-Bat looks like the same one we’ve in in a previous set while The Kabuki Twins are brand new. We’ll see how the assassins will play part in the movie later on. The Batmobile will retail for $59.99.

The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906) has 433 pieces and will retail for $49.99. It is the one that we saw an image of yesterday with the character reveal and it includes minifigures of Batgirl, The Joker, and Harley Quinn. All three minifigures have new printing on them and the Lowrider is an interesting looking build as well.

The LEGO Batman Movie Joker and Robin Close-Up Look

The LEGO Batman Movie

USA Today has released some new images of some of the characters that will be in The LEGO Batman Movie including the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Robin. As mentioned before Zach Galifianakis will be voicing Joker while Michael Cera will be voicing Robin. There’s no mention yet on who will be voicing Harley.

As you can see Robin, has a very different look that what we’ve been used to seeing with the goggles that makes his eyes look huge and a shiny yellow cape. Robin does have a very close resemblance to Carrie Kelley from Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. As for the Joker, his mouth looks like it’s been painted on. We can also see Joker’s vehicle that Harley Quinn is driving.

Director Chris McKay hints that “We’re going deep in Batman lore and DC Comics lore. Batman’s Rogues Gallery is going to be completely filled out in LEGO.” If you’re familiar with Batman lore, the Rogues Gallery is basically a term for all the villains that Batman has faced so there could possibly be a lot more villains in the movie besides the Joker and Harley Quinn.

There will also be a new trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie coming this week when it is shown off at San Diego Comic Con.

Update: CM4Sci on Eurobricks is reporting there will be two sets to be displayed at SDCC this week.

The LEGO Batman Movie is a 90-Minute Easter Egg

The LEGO Batman Movie

There are some new details regarding what we can expect to see from The LEGO Batman Movie. Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in a recent interview with Collider has given some little tidbids about the movie.

First, there are no limits to what eras of Batman will be covered. They also stated that the movie is pretty much a 90-minute Easter egg and it covers anything up to Batman v Superman as well as the future of Batman, whatever that means.

The LEGO Batman Movie won’t be out for quite a while so we can expect many more little teasers and tidbids of it until then. Hopefully, we’ll get to see something for it from San Diego Comic Con next month.
