LEGO Castle Sets Showing Up in Toys R Us Stores?

Castle sets on the shelves

The return of the LEGO Castle sets may be sooner than you think. According to Brickset, a worker at a Colorado Toys R Us store has seen the sets already on the shelves. If this is true, then the release date has been pushed up considerably since we were expecting them later on in the year. You may want to take a little trip down to your local Toys R Us stores to see if they’re on the shelves yet.

LEGO The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212) at Toys R Us (again)

LEGO The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212)

After the report that Toys R Us was selling the Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212) polybag on their website, many people flocked to get it and sold out very quickly. Now’s your chance to purchase it again. TRU is selling them again on their site for $4.99 each with a limit of 3 per customer. They are also having a special offer where you can get one for free with a $20 or more purchase of any LEGO product(s). This offer is valid for today and tomorrow only. Read my review of the Mirkwood Elf Guard here.

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sets Now Available at Toys R Us

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Shellraiser Street Chase (79104)

There are reports that some of the new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets are now available at Toys R Us stores. The website also has all the sets listed although you can’t order online yet. All of the TMNT sets are listed except for the Turtle Lair Attack (79103) and it seems the Baxter Robot Rampage (79105) is exclusive to TRU and LEGO stores. Keep in mind that although Toys R Us usually have new stock of LEGO sets, they also mark up the prices considerably. Unless you really want the Turtle sets now or have extra money sitting around, I would suggest waiting until LEGO releases them at the LEGO stores or Shop@Homeicon.

Kraang Lab Escape (79100)
MSRP: $12.99 TRU: $17.99

Shredder’s Dragon Bike (79101)
MSRP: $24.99 TRU $34.99

Stealth Shell In Pursuit (79102)
MSRP: $19.99 TRU: $27.99

The Shellraiser Street Chase (79104)
MSRP: $59.99 TRU: $79.99

Baxter Robot Rampage (79105)
MSRP: $39.99 TRU: $44.99

Update: TRU is offering a LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Poster with a purchase of $25 or more on the TMNT sets.

LEGO The Hobbit Gandalf at Dol Guldur (30213) Polybag Now Available at TRU (USA)

The Gandalf polybag that we saw last week showing up on eBay has now shown up on the Toys R Us website. It is listed under the Lord of the Rings LEGO theme and is selling for $3.99 each. The set probably depicts Gandalf at Dol Guldur where he finds Thrain, father of Thorin Oakenshield, held prisoner and receives the map and Key of the Lonely Mountain. If you still find the polybag available online, I suggest picking it as these polybags are highly sought after. It is currently the cheapest way to get one but LEGO Shop@Home will be offering the polybag with a purchase of LEGO The Hobbit An Unexpected Gathering Board Game (3920)icon from Dec 9th – 31st, while supplies last.

LEGO Galaxy Squad Available at Canada Toys R Us Stores

Brickset is reporting that the new LEGO Galaxy Squad sets have arrived in Toys R Us stores in Canada. Brickset memeber, CupIsHalfEmpty, found a couple of the sets at the Winnipeg location, which wasn’t expected to be released until January. He has snapped pictures of the Space Swarmer (70700) and the Bug Obliterator (70705) on the shelves. You can also see the first images of the Galaxy Squad minifigures, shown on the bottom right corner.

The Bug Obliterator contains 711 pieces and retails for $99.99 CAD while the Space Swarmer has 86 pieces and retails for $14.99 CAD. Keep in mind that these are TRU prices and will be lower in other retail stores. It looks like this will be an expensive Christmas with The Hobbit sets coming out real soon.

LEGO The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212) Polybag Available at Toys R Us

LEGO The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212)

Brickset has reported that the first Hobbit polybag has been found at Toys R Us, the Mirkwood Elf Guard (30212) polybag. You get a really nice dark green hooded elf with a bow and arrow as his weapon. You also get a small tree with a torch on the side and a mushroom. But wait, there’s more! You also get a wine glass as well as a barrel. For only $4.99, this looks to be a hot selling polybag in the near future.

Update 1: It looks like the polybag has been pulled from the TRU website.

Toys R Us Bricktober 2012 Promotions

Today, many AFOL sites were sent details about the promotions at this year’s Bricktober event at Toys R Us stores from The LEGO Community Team. Each week in October, for every purchase of $59.99 or more, you will receive a LEGO Vintage Minifigure Collection set as a gift. According to ObiSeanLegobi on Brickset, there will be a very limited supply at participating stores:

From a TRU source: Most stores will only get 10-20 Vintage minifigure sets, to be given out free (one per customer per day)

If you’re excited about that, there’s even more news for Bricktober. On October 20 from 12-2pm, there will be a LEGO Creationary Challenge, possibly for prizes. On October 27 also from 12-2pm, you can receive a free LEGO Monster Fighters promotional pack (5000644). Looks like it’s going to be pretty busy and expensive October at Toys R Us.
