LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Series Assault on Hoth (75098)

The May the 4th flagship set for this year was announced back in February with the LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth (75098). Almost immediately, there was an overwhelmingly negative response to the set and pretty easy to see why it got such as response. Let’s take a deeper look at the set to see if all of the negative press was warranted.

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Assault on Hoth (75098) Officially Announced

LEGO has officially announced the newest LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series set with the Assault on Hoth (75098) at the 2016 New York Toy Fair. Unfortunately some bad apples leaked it yesterday but today we get to see some higher quality images of the set as well as the official press release for it.

The LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth (75098) will be available on Saturday, April 30 for the start of the May the 4th promotion. There will no be no VIP Early Access for the set. Check out the pertinent details of the set below.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth (75098) Set Details

LEGO has been pumping out press releases today in preparation of the 2016 New York Toy Fair and the latest one is about the summer wave of LEGO Star Wars sets. More importantly, there are details of the next UCS set with the Assault on Hoth (75098). There is now official details of the set which will be available on May 1 for $249.99. It will have 2,144 pieces and will recreate the iconic scene from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Some minifigures included with the Assault on Hoth is Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Toryn Farr, Wes Janson, Wedge Antilles, and K-3PO, just to name a few. New UCS LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159) Coming in 2016

Back in April , there were rumors of a new LEGO Star Wars Death Star set coming im 2016 and it looks like it may be coming true. Brickset has a listing for a new Ultimate Collector Series Death Star with set number 75159. The 10188 version is still available in America but has been recently retired in Europe and has been listed as “Retiring Soon” on Shop@Home. I’ll have more information as they come.

Update: Apparently, Just2Good posted this info on Eurobricks yesterday but I didn’t see on there as I only saw on Brickset this morning.

More LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth (75098) Details

A few months ago, I posted some details about the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Hoth Echo Base including the set number of 75098 with a recommended retail price of $249.99 which was found over on Brickset.

I have some more details about the set from a very reliable source. The set is actually called the Assault on Hoth (75098) and it will be a Ultimate Collector Series set. Pretty much everything that was shown in the mini movie will be in the set minus the AT-ATs. You can see some of the stuff in the screenshots I took above and below. Han is also shown riding the Tauntaun as well as a small Wampa cave with the Wampa bigfig and Luke hanging out.

Finally as far as the release date? I’m not sure about that but I was told that it would be released in August for New Zealand so I’m guessing it might be a May the 4th set since LEGO has traditionally released UCS sets around that time.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes UCS S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier (76042) Officially Revealed

A few hours ago, we revealed some images of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes UCS S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier (76042) and now LEGO has officially announced the set. We now get to see the whole set in its glory. The Helicarrier consists of 2,996 pieces and will retail for $349.99. It will include 5 minifigures: Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Maria Hill, as well as 12 microfigures. As we mentioned before, it’ll be available for early access for LEGO VIP members from February 17-28 and to the general public on March 1. LEGO Star Wars UCS TIE Fighter (75095) Confirmed

Back in October, we exclusively revealed that there will be a LEGO Star Wars UCS TIE Fighter coming in 2015. Over on Eurobricks, user TWP has spotted a product listing on SpeelGoed NL which shows the UCS TIE Fighter with set number 75095. This pretty much confirms the information that we’ve received a few months ago. The only difference is that it will be releaed in August instead of during the May the 4th event. SpeelGoed lists the price at €224.95 and my contact told me that it would be around $199.99. The UCS TIE Fighter joins the TIE Interceptor (7181) and Vader’s TIE Advanced (10175) as the different UCS TIE variants in the LEGO Star Wars universe. There’s no word yet on whether it will be based on the original Star Wars trilogy or the upcoming The Force Awakens movie.
