Continuing with my reviews of The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets, the next one I’ll be doing is the Ninjago City Chase (70607). It has a moderate 233 pieces while retailing for $19.99.
Minifigures
Lloyd has on a green hoodie with dark green pants. The printing around the front of the waist shows some of the jacket wrapping over the belt. He has a double-sided head with green eyes and smiles on both sides. The hair piece is the new long wavy hair in tan. His accessory is a soda with the printed 1×1 round tile.
Nya has a pretty fashionable look with the striped shirt with a black leather jacket. Her jeans also look very nice with the holes on both legs and also shoe printing on the feet. She has a double-sided head with a happy smile on one side and an angry look on the other. Her hair piece is a new bun mold to complete her look. Her accessory is printed 1×2 cell phone tile.
Next is Officer Toque who looks very similar to Bad Cop from The LEGO Movie. The torso is the exact same but Toque has on blue legs. He has a single-sided head with an angry look. The helmet he wears is also the same as Bad Cop. His accessory is a pair of handcuffs.
Ham is a new character for The LEGO Ninjago Movie and he is a food stall vendor in Ninjago City. He has on a blue robe with gray legs. His yelling/scared expression is what makes this minifigure great and he wears one of the new molded straw hats. His accessory is a printed 1×2 money tile.
Finally we have the Shark Army Thug. He has on a tactical suit with printing for the harness and knee pads. There is a stubble on his face and he has on an eye patch. His accessory is a fish hammer that uses a light blue fish.
Build
The first part of the build is Officer Toque’s police tuc-tuc which is essentially an auto rickshaw. The front has one wheel but the detail is at the police lights and the stickers on the 1×2 inverted slopes. There is only seating for Toque and another minifigure. The back has a sticker for the word Police. The top of the tuc-tuc has some trans-blue and red 1×1 cheese slopes for the lights and there’s another sticker for Police.
Ham’s food stand looks very nice and has a very oriental style. The sticker sign at the top of the stand says Shop. Underneath that are some red fin pieces to represent the awnings. On one side of the shop, there is a 2×2 sticker of fish with a basket of pearl-silver fish. The other side has a 2×2 sticker of cherries with its respective basket. The baskets are clipped on to the 1×2 angled handle pieces and the contents can be dumped out. There’s also a seperate basket of apples as well.
Finally we have the two lamp posts that are connected with a rope with some lanterns hanging off. On each lamp post, there are some colorful sticker street signs hanging on the sides. Two on one side say Newtown and Arlo while the other side says Uptown and Hotel.
Results
The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Chase (70607) is a great deal for what you get which include five minifigures and a couple of great looking builds. I really liked the aesthetics of the food stand as it gives off a very oriental style. I also liked the lamp posts sections, more for the street signs even though they’re stickers. Speaking of stickers, I really didn’t mind them in this set as they work here to give more detailing and not just some random ones that don’t serve a purpose.
